The Murder of the Young Man in Jerusalem – The Decapitated Calf • The Daily Lesson from Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Below is a summary of the topics from the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a – yesterday after the Maariv prayer on Tuesday night, the 18th of Tevet 5786, Parshat Shemot:

1. Everyone is studying Likutei Halachot. Evening of the 5th, page 78, about how if a person wants to know how many drops are in Tiberias (in the Kinneret), they should check how many Jacob poured in Beit El, as he poured like the drops of the sea of Tiberias.
2. After that, study the laws of gifts, the 5th, all of Chanukah is thanks to Chana. She prayed "The bow of the mighty is broken"; in the sign of Sagittarius, the bow of Greece will be broken.
3. Antiochus left the war in Persia to fight the Jews and in the end, his body was filled with worms and he was thrown by the side of the road.
4. Now the most righteous young man, named Yosef Eizental, was murdered (in a protest); a decapitated calf must be brought for him.
5. Yosef studied with his father about the decapitated calf. He hinted to him that it would happen to him like a decapitated calf.
6. Watch as the son of Eliphaz conquered Rome from the Greeks thanks to Isaac's blessing. And then he became the first king of Rome.
7. Tomorrow everyone is traveling to the Rambam; thanks to the Rambam, the redemption will come. It is written in the Midrash that the Rambam was supposed to be the King Mashiach.
8. The last date is in 5712; until then, everyone must live, and Mashiach will arrive today.
8. Everyone is now traveling to the wedding. All the young men who do not have a yeshiva will study Megillah until Purim and then will study Pesachim.
