The engagement celebration for the great-granddaughter of Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit”a, the Reicher (Tzuker) family to the Lowy family of Bnei Brak.
On last Sunday, after Ma’ariv, the engagement celebration for Moreinu HaRav Berland’s great-granddaughter took place in his home. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Rabbi Chaim Reicher shlit”a from the Tzuker family with the groom-to-be Avraham Altar Chaim the son of Rabbi David Lowy, prominent among the Spinka Chasidim in Bnei Brak.
During the engagement celebration, the Rav shlit”a gave a shiur in which he spoke about Parshat Vaera, that the frogs merited to self-sacrifice, and said that all the mitzvot that a person performs are self-sacrifice. Likewise, he brought the words of the holy book “Degel Machaneh Ephraim” that the wedding canopy is like Yom Kippur, and the time between the engagement and the wedding is like the Ten Days of Repentance.
