On Purim All the Gates are Opened — Daily Chizzuk by Rav Eliezer Berland Shlit”a

Rav Berland shlit”a speaks about the holiness of Purim and the need to continue and fight even when it seems like hope is lost.

“Since they hung Haman, they already knew that this was the end, but unfortunately this wasn’t the end.  This took seventy days.”

Tuesday, 12 Adar Bet 5782

These are his holy words:

Purim is the time that there is no judgment in the world – no judgement.

Really, they hung Haman a year previously, but we moved everything to Purim, because it’s possible to do within Pesach another Purim.  So we moved this to Purim, because then all the gates are truly opened – all the gates.

Then Hashem “recuperated,” because everyone converted – everyone is converting, since they hung Haman, they already knew that this was the end, but unfortunately this wasn’t the end.  This took seventy days.

This took another seventy days.  They thought that they were causing the Persians to despair, but they [weren’t] at all.  This is like Russia, that they warn him, speak to him, travel to him, [and] he says that it’s impossible to cancel this decree.

Law is law, a decree is a decree, but Esther said, “It doesn’t interest me – neither decree nor law.”

The Rav sings: “Esther added and spoke before the king, fell at his feet, cried, and pleaded to him.”
