As our Rebbe Rav Eliezer Berland shlit”a has said over the course of all the years — the holy Kibbutz (gathering) of Rabbeinu begins at the Zachor Bris selichos on Erev Rosh Hashana and continues on Rosh Hashana, and concludes on Yom Kippur.

The Rav shlit”a ascribes great importance to taking part in the prayer gathering of Yom Kippur in Jerusalem and has always requested that the minyan be large and honorable.

Last year, we merited to join together in the holy prayers of Yom Kippur in the giant sukkah which was built especially for the extensive community of Breslov Shuvu Banim.  The prayer sukkah was erected in the complex of Chasidus Toldos Avraham Yitzchak especially for the prayers of Yom Kippur.

Also this year, the dedicated community leaders are toiling to put up the prayer complex which is capable of holding the extensive public who arrive from all over Israel to fulfill the words of Rav Berland, and to continue the holy Kibbutz with the prayers of Yom Kippur.

With that goal, there are extensive costs in the 100,000’s of shekels (which only go to this purpose), including:

  1.  Leasing the large complex from Chasidus Avraham Yitzchak at a cost of 10,000’s of shekels.
  2. Building and erecting a large complex fitting for prayer, including a large number of seats, a prayer platform, facilities, etc.
  3. Air conditioning.
  4. Generators which can supply all the necessary electricity

In addition to the extensive costs of erecting the prayer complex, there will also be a distribution of food baskets to hundreds of poor families of Kollel students, students and supporters of our Rebbe Rav Berland shlit”a.

There’s no greater mitzvah than this before Yom Kippur, which helps families who otherwise wouldn’t have anything to eat during the holiday, and it’s a great mitzvah to make them happy, fulfilling the mitzvah of the Torah to make the poor happy on the holiday.

The distribution is for 500 food baskets of 400 shekels each for the needs of the holiday.

It’s possible to write down when donating if one wants to donate to only one of the two possibilities: 1. The prayer complex for Yom Kippur, 2. Food baskets for the holiday for poor families.

It’s possible to merit before Yom Kippur to an additional important mitzvah — to donate for the covering for the Torah scroll of our Rebbe Rav Eliezer Berland shlit”a and the paroches–the curtain covering for the holy ark in the synagogue.

Baruch Hashem, the Rav will have a limited prayer quorum in his home during the coming Chagim.  At the moment the Rav shlit”a has a Torah scroll without a covering or paroches.  As is known, the custom during the Chag is to place a white covering on the Torah scroll.

The price of the covering and paroches for the Torah scroll of Rav Berland shlit”a is 4,300 shekels.

Those interested in meriting to this awesome mitzvah can write it down in the donation link.
