Rabbi Berland’s Prayers for Holy Children #8
Continuing the new series of translated prayers, this time from the booklet of prayers by Rabbi Berland to have Children Who Are Tzaddikim.

81. Master of the world who can do anything, from whom nothing is withheld.
Grant me a heart that hears, an ear that listens, and so too all my sons and daughters until the end of the generations will have fear of heaven, and will busy themselves with Torah and Mitzvot.
And all of them will learn Torah for its own sake, with full understanding, and with full enthusiasm, like it says, “much water is not able to extinguish the love, and rivers will not overrun it, if a man will give all the wealth of his house will he be despised?”
And may I and my sons and daughters, my grandsons and granddaughters, my great grandsons and great granddaughters merit until the end of all the generations to fulfill the saying,
“Yehuda ben Teima says, be light (130) as an eagle (570) run (290) like a deer (122) strong (211) as a lion (231) = 1559” and through this, “He watches (361) through (90) the windows (505) He peers (230) through (90) the cracks (283) = 1559”.
And through this may we merit salvations, because also “on account of (65) of the fathers (409) that did (676) Your will (366) = 1559”.

Prayers which are specifically for women to say:
82. Master of the world who can do anything, from whom nothing is withheld.
You are able to transform all of my body in the blink of an eye into sapphire stone.
Which will shine like the bodies of the women of Israel at the time when they left Egypt and stood at the sea shore and their bodies where purified like a mirror, like a diamond, until all the unborn children saw Hashem and sang together with everyone:
“this is my G-d and I will praise him”
When they were surrounded with pillars of cloud and fire.
So too purify me so that all of my body will be purified like glass, like sapphire stone and diamond, tarshish, shoham, yashpeh, [stones on the Kohen HaGadol’s breastplate], and will light up all the darkness.
Until even my unborn child will see You like the time of the Giving of the Torah when the unborn children also heard the Ten Commandments and sang together with everyone the Song at the Sea.
Please, Merciful and Gracious One, who can do anything, from whom nothing is withheld.
And You can, in the blink of an eye, perform Your will, who created us before the sin with pure bodies clean of all lusts and which only shined like the sun.
So too return me, my unborn child, and my children to the situation of before the sin, before the world was ruined.
Grant me the merit to be before You, me and all the members of my household, like before the sin of Adam and Eve, when the sun and the moon shone equally.
And it will be that the light of the moon will be like the light of the sun and the light of the sun will be seventy times the light of the seven days [of Creation].
Please perform in Your kindness, that I will merit to educate my sons and my daughters in the light of Torah, and they will know that there is no other light in the world except for the light of Torah and Mitzvot and fear [of heaven].

Please Merciful and Gracious One, before whom darkness is like light, grant me the merit to come close to the source of the light, to the Beit HaMikdash from where the light shone out to the world.
Bring me close to the Foundation Stone from which the light shines to the world, from where the source of the light comes out to all the dwellers on earth, from where the source of the light comes to each and every soul.
Grant me to live really close to the Foundation Stone, until the light of the Stone transforms my body of stone into sapphire stone, tarshish, yahalom and pitdah [stones on the Kohen HaGadol’s breastplate].
And may I and my unborn child and children merit will go and light up the world with the light of the precious tarshish, shoham and yashpeh, and may I, my unborn child and children shine like the Urim and Tumim to the world.

And grant me in the blink of an eye, to a shortcut, and even today I will find an apartment in the city of righteousness [Jerusalem], “where righteousness resides”.
And all who dwell there they forgive their sins, and their accounts are not considered, because You are there and everything scrubs, cleans and purifies each nefesh and neshamah from all sins and transgressions.

Master of the world, I’m not able to stand any longer the great distance between me and the source of the fire.
And may I merit to fulfil the verse, “for which there was a furnace for him in Zion and an oven for him in Jerusalem” , “and I will be for her, said Hashem, a wall of fire”.
And may I merit from today to be surrounded by fire, by the fire of Jerusalem, and to remain within the walls always, where on Your walls of Jerusalem the angels Michael, Gavriel, Refael, Uriel and Nuriel stand, and they are Your guards.
Grant me the merit to be surrounded by them, me, my sons and my daughters, and my unborn child who will be born at a propitious time.
And merit a Jerusalem of fire, and all of our bodies will transform into flames of fire, and all 248 of our limbs will shine with the light of fire, because twice the numerical value of flame is 248.
So that all 248 of our limbs will light up the darkness, and like flames of fire whose light goes into the distance, so too our bodies will light up all the darkness.

82. Master of the world, grant me the merit to be clean from all anger and never to get angry ever again.
Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld, take me out of all the lusts, because I am embarrassed down to the depths of my soul, now that I have passed more than half of my years and I am now worse than a young girl of sixteen.
Because the lusts grow and overcome me from day to day and from moment to moment more and more.
Whether they are lusts for eating, or lusts for anything else, all of them rise up and wrap themselves around my neck, and I have no way of breaking free of them.
The only thing I can do is to rely on Your great mercy, and to stake my support on Your Thirteen Attributes of Mercy, that You will grant me the merit to be righteous and kosher and pious, like Sarah, Rachel, Rivka and Leah, who were even greater than Avraham.
And a voice came out of heaven and told Avraham, “everything that Sarah will say to you, listen to her voice”.
Because arguments in a person’s home are more difficult than the war of Gog and Magog.
And nonetheless, a voice came out of heaven and said that Sarah was correct, and he needed to remove Hagar even though she would see angels on each and every word, and nonetheless, Sarah saw that there was no chance with her son and even if he would make teshuva, he and his descendants would be wild-men, “their hand will be on everyone and everyone’s hand will be on them”.
Please Gracious and Merciful One, grant me the merit to be like our Matriarch Sarah, who you sent a blessing in her dough.
And whenever she did hafrashat challah [removing the portion of the bread] she merited to rectify all of the souls from Adam HaRishon.
Please, One who can do anything, grant me the merit to be like our Matriarch Sarah whose candle never went out, so too grant me that my candles will never go out again ever, not my candle and not the candles of my children and not the candles of my children’s children for ever more.
Please Gracious and Merciful Once, who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld.
Just like the home of Sarah was open to guests twenty four hours, so too grant me the merit to have endless strength to take in guests, even twenty four hours, into my house.
Please, One who can do anything, just like You granted Sarah the merit that a pillar of cloud would always be fixed over her tent, so too grant me that the cloud of Hashem and the holy Shechina will rest in my home day and night, forever, for me and for my sons and my daughters, my grandsons and granddaughters, great grandsons and great granddaughters, forever more.

83. Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld, grant me to be like our Matriarch Sarah, of whom it was said, “and the life of Sarah was one hundred years” about which the Ba’al Turim says that the initial letters spell ‘sun’.
And her light went from the beginning to the end.
So too, grant me the merit that the light of Hashem will shine in me, and my light will shine from one end of the world to the other.
Please Gracious and Merciful One, Victor over all victors, grant me the merit to be victorious in this terrible war which I am in day and night, and my war is in front (180) and behind (215) = 395, the secret of heaven (395).
And through being victorious in the terrible war I find myself in, which is in front and behind, through this may I merit to rise up in the tempest to heaven with my body, really, like Serach the daughter of Asher and Batyiah the daughter of Pharoah about whom it is said that they merited to rise up to heaven with their bodies.
Please Merciful and Gracious One, Mighty One over all the mighty ones, grant me the merit to overcome all of my difficult and bitter lusts, especially the lust for eating.
And to be successful over this lust completely, and I will no longer have any lust for any food whatsoever.
And may I merit to be like Esther the Queen who merited all her life to only eat seeds, and through this merited to be ‘greenish colored’, which is the ‘green line’ which surrounds the entire world, and she merited that her soul surrounded the entire world, and through this she merited to rule over the entire world.

Please Merciful and Gracious One, who can do anything, in the merit of You helping me to overcome all of my difficult and bitter lusts, because you are the Mighty One over all the mighty ones, and the Powerful One over all powerful ones, give me powers of might and forces of strength and fortitude to nullify the lusts from within me.
And to remove completely my body from me, and the light of my soul will shine within me a light which is drawn down from You the Endless One.
Until I merit the level of our Matriarch Sarah, peace be upon her, who said, “after I have withered, shall I again have clear skin?” and the Zohar explains that she merited the Upper Eden, the source of all the refinement and lights, like it’s written, “and a river came out of Eden to water the garden”.
So too grant me the merit to rise up to the Upper Eden, and to draw down from there the most pure and refined lights.
And through this may I merit to educate and to raise my children in Torah and in good deeds in the path of Rabbenu Hakadosh.
And may I merit to remove from them the husks of Og and Sichon which sit behind the neck, and swallow all the prayers.
And just like You have shown to me miracles and wonders until now, so too show me miracles and wonders in educating my precious children, and make me like Esther the Queen, and them like Mordechai the Jew, and may they merit a soul from the World of Atzilut.

Please Merciful and Gracious One, who can do anything, the Strong One over all strong ones, strengthen me and give me power, and like Moshe Rabbenu, peace be upon him, said, “You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your mighty hand”.
And through this may I merit that the souls of my children be encompassed in the soul of Mordechai the Jew.
About whom it is said, “and Mordechai came out from before the king dressed in clothing of Royalty, of techelet (turquoise) and chur (white), and great crown of gold”. This is the crown of Adam Kadmon, which Mordechai the Jew merited on account of his great holiness and separation and humility.
And may I and my children merit to be like Mordechai the Jew who did not get up and did not move, until we merit also to subdue the husk of Haman Amalek from us and from all of the Children of Israel, Your nation.
And may we merit that there is imbued in us the soul of Chur who did not submit to the Golden Calf, so too may I and my children not submit to any Golden Calf in the world.
And through this, may I merit the holiness of Esther, the numerical value of Shoshana, who merited to nullify all types of darkness in the world, internally and externally.
And therefore she merited to be called, “Shoshanat Yaakov” on account of the fact that twice ‘darkness’ (328) is the numerical value of Shushan (656). And therefore she merited to draw down the holiness of Purim into the world, as then the plague of darkness in Egypt began for seven days.
And in the merit of this, may we merit to see on the fifteenth day of darkness over all the world the coming of our righteous Moshiach, speedily in our days, Amen.

84. Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld.
Grant me the merit to be “a woman (701) of valor (48) who (50) can find (141) her value (265) is far (320) from pearls (280), her husband’s heart trusts in her, and she is not lacking any spoils”.
And send me a complete recovery, because I (61) believe (146) with complete (375) faith (104) that all (350) the words (216) of the prophets (118) are true (441) = 3616.
Please, King (90) who performs (384) the act (415) of Creation (913), grant me the merit of children on the level of our holy and awesome Rabbi, like it’s written, “your children (82) will be like olive (467) saplings (770) surrounding (74) your table (444)” = 3616.
And may I merit to always be a woman who brings (58) with her (406) good (423) tidings (914).
And may I merit that all my desire and yearning, will be always for the true Tzadikim, like it’s written, “for the holy ones (460) who (501) are in (50) the land (293) and the mighty ones (231), all (50) my desire (88) is in them (42)” = 3616.
And in the merit of the Tzadikim, “the eyes of the community”, may I have a complete recovery in my eyes, in the blink of an eye.

85. Master of the world, Mighty One over all the mighty ones, Victor over all the victorious ones, who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld.
You are able in the blink of an eye to stop all my headaches, and so that I will not have any more headaches ever.
And so that I will have an open mind to learn Your Torah and to have awe of You, and to educate my children, and to listen to the voice of my husband, everything he says just as he says it, and not to deviate from his will ‘left or right’.
And through this may I merit to fulfill the verse, “Your eyes look ahead, and Your eyelids are straight ahead of You”.
And may all my thoughts be clean and pure.
And may I merit to reach the level of the holy Matriarchs, Sarah, Rivka, Rachel and Leah, whose candles never went out ever, and on whose dough there rested a blessing, and whose tent was open on all sides to all those passing by.
So too grant me the merit to be on their level, and on the level of Miriam the prophetess whose well gives water forever, and the level of Devorah the prophetess who brought salvation to Israel and who merited to sing on Mount Tavor.
On account of her breaking her pride in four aspects: over righteous people, average people, wicked people and also over her own level.
So too, may I merit the level of Esther the Queen who dressed in royalty, and the Zohar says that an angel accompanied her and when Achashverosh saw the angel his soul flew from him.
So too grant me the merit that angels will accompany me with every step, and may I merit to say a number of times a day, “on my right side is Michael, on my left is Gavriel, in front of me is Uriel, and behind me is Refael and above my head is G-d’s Shechina”.

86. Master of the world, when I light the candles with fear, trepidation, trembling and great awe, grant me the merit to have the intention for all the meanings of the verse, “when you raise up the light of the candles”.
And grant me that the lighting of the candles will be as if I have the intent of the Kohen HaGadol at the time he lit the holy and pure Menorah.
And may I merit in the merit of lighting the candles, me and my husband, to really be a single unit, from head to toe.
And may I and my husband merit to raise up clusters and flowers, kosher and righteous children, with the holiness of Rabbenu HaKadosh.
And when I light the candles may I merit to be like Esther (661) the Queen, the numerical value of the candles (661), and Mordechai (294) and Esther (661) = 955 were always humble (133) and lowly (822) = 955.
And through this they merited to purify all of their four foundations: fire (301) water (90) air (14) dust (350) = 955.
And in the merit of this they merited that four angels accompanied them day and night, ‘Nuriel (297) Gavriel (246) Refael (311) Michael (101)’ = 955, all of which has the same numerical value and is the same aspect, which one merits through lighting the candles of the holy Shabbat.

87. Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld, grant me the merit to pour out my heart like water before You, and to educate the daughters of Israel.
And may the verse be fulfilled in us, “for our sons are like saplings nurtured from their youth, our daughters are like cornerstones crafted in the form of a palace”.
And may they be pure and clean like cornerstones of the golden (19) altar (57).
And through this may they merit to be on the level of Sarah (505) Rivka (307) Rachel (238) Leah (36) = 1162.
And through this, G-d (31) the Faithful (141) King, imbue in them the souls of Moshiach (358) the son of (52) Yosef (156) and Moshiach (358) the son of (52) David (14) = 1162 who will build the Beit HaMikdash in the blink of an eye. Amen, Netzach, Selah, Va’ed.

Prayers which are specifically for men to say:
88. Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld, grant me the merit to have G-dly grace, an inner grace, a grace of the soul.
And I should only see you face to face at every moment and second.
And through this draw down on me Your true grace, the G-dly grace, like Yosef said to Binyamin, “G-d will give you grace my son” and then he drew down on Binyamin the eternal grace, which is the G-dly grace, the true grace.
And may I not stumble, G-d forbid, in the grace of women.
In the grace of the sitra achra (the ‘other side’), in the grace of lies.
And may I merit the verse, “false is the grace and worthless is the beauty; a woman who has fear of heaven is the one who is praised”.
And may we merit that we and our offspring, and the offspring of our offspring until the end of all the generations, will yearn only for G-dly grace, internal grace, like, “the children with whom G-d graced Your servant”.

89. Master of the world, holy and pure, holy and awesome.
Grant me the merit to get out of all my terrible debts which squeeze around my neck.
And may I merit to educate all the members of Israel in this generation, and all the children of Israel in this generation, to go on the path of our holy and awesome teacher, the holy of holies.
And everyone will know that our holy and awesome teacher is the one who is breathing them every moment and second.
And may I not see any strange woman in the world, until I merit to achieve the secret of ‘Mah’ [one of the names of G-d], the secret of “your eyes [wise men] flow (622) with wisdom (368) = 990”.
And through this may I merit to draw down into the world the souls of Moshiach (358) the son of (52) Yosef (156) Moshiach (358) the son of (52) David (14) = 990.

90. Master of the world who can do anything, grant me true happiness, to be happy and to make others happy.
And to fulfill every day at every moment, “and he made happy his wife which he took”.
And every day to increase happiness with my wife and children, and to be ‘glistening’ [with happiness] which gives ‘glistening’ [ie happiness] to another thing.
And to make my wife and children happy with all types of happiness in the world.
And always to increase, “satisfaction that bring happiness to Your face, pleasantness in Your right hand eternally”.
And not to show sadness ever, even if I go through what I have to go through, in no event will I fall into any sadness even a little.
And I won’t allow any sadness to touch me at all. Even if I fall into depression of the soul, I will know that this is only a passing imagination and that it has no reality at all, and there is never any reason to be sad even for one second.
Because Hashem is with us and Rabbenu and all the great Tzaddikim are helping us.
