Our Rebbe Rav Eliezer Berland shlit”a visited Yosef’s tomb in Shechem on Wednesday night, 1 Adar Alef 5782, and after saying the Tikkun HaKlali with the gathered community, gave over the following words of Torah.

“Now this is Alef Adar, two fish [referring to Pieces, the astrological sign of Adar, which falls twice this year].  The fish is the leviathan, Amram and Yocheved who reached the 50th Gate, and in the merit of this, they merited to draw down the soul of Moshe Rabbeinu. [In one of the Rav’s prayers, this is discussed a bit: Master of the World, the month of Adar, whose sign is Fish, the secret of the Leviathan and its mate, that Hashem killed the female and sterilized the male, because in the month of Adar this lust is nullified completely, and it has no place, because all the tragedies which happen to a person are only because of this lust, which troubles and arouses against him all the judgements).

“Leviathan is the 50th Gate.  The astrological sign of Fish is the 50th Gate.  Haman was in the 50th gate of impurity, and Mordechai was in the 49th Gate of holiness.  Haman was one gate above Mordechai, and with this was his plan to overcome Mordechai, but Rabbeinu says in Likutey Moharan Part 1, Torah 8 that the gate of prayer is the 50th Gate, and in the merit of Mordechai praying, he ascended to the 50th Gate, and through this he overcame Haman.  The 50th Gate is also in the Torah, in Yoreh Deah and in Choshen Mishpat.

“Now is the Yahrzeit of the Shach [the author of Siftei Kohen, one of the main commentaries on the Shulchan Aruch].  The Shach went over all Choshen Mishpat a hundred times before he began his work on Choshen Mishpat.  He didn’t take his head out of the book from the day he was born.  From the age of three he didn’t take his head out of the book, and this is Yosef HaTzaddik who didn’t take his head out of the book.  He didn’t open his eyes.  He never saw anything in his life – ‘Your father’s blessings surpassed my parents’ blessings, as long as the eternal mountains exist, they shall be on Yosef’s head, on the top of the head of the elect of his brothers’ (Breishit 49:26).  Yosef is the head.

“Head of fragrances.  Mordechai is the head of fragrances.  He is the head of the Tzaddikim, all the fragrances, ‘Mara Dachya’ – pure myrrh – this is Mordechai.  The Targum says that ‘mara dachya’ is the head of myrrh.  It is the head of fragrances and Esther is the head.

”Esther is Hadassah.  I saw an insight yesterday, ‘In place of the thornbush, a cypress will rise; in place of the nettle, a hadas [myrtle] will rise’ (Yeshaya 55:13).  How do they turn the nettle into a hadas?  Take out the PaR (280) judgements.  Vashti is the PaR judgements.  There are 280 judgements; MaNTzaPaCh is 280, the numerical value of PaR.  Then the judgements are taken out of Vashti.

“Vashti is the Accuser in himself.  These are all our transgressions, and all the judgements we receive from Vashti.  Take from Vashti the PaR judgements, then it will be hadas.  The nettle- HaSaRPaD is the letters H, D, S, and we only needs to take out the PaR.  Through the Tikkun HaKlali and through coming to Yosef HaTzaddik, we remove the PaR judgements from Vashti and from Achashverosh, because Vashti, Achashverosh, and Haman are one thing, one body, one reality.

“Acheshverosh is the numerical value of Rabbeinu Nachman ben Simchah exactly, without [adding one for] the name itself.  Then Rabbeinu Nachman ben Simchah – 821 – is exactly Achasverosh with two vav’s, which is to say as it’s written in the scroll, and not as people are used to writing ‘Acheshverosh’ with three vav’s.  Only Rabbeinu can subdue Acheshverosh, only Rabbeinu.  This is a klipah-husk that hasn’t been from the creation of the world, and there won’t be such a klipah – so only Rabbeinu.  This begins already today, on 1 Adar Alef, we begin to subdue all the Achashveroshes, the entire Knesset, and all members of the Knesset – all of them.  No remnant will remain of them, and they will all be like dust and straw.

“Yosef didn’t take his head out of the book.  From today, we don’t take our head out of the book.  ‘A fruitful son is Yosef, a fruitful son on the fountain’ (Breishit 49:22).  Why fruitful?  Because he would sew together shoes, and he had a shoemaking workshop.  Yosef is a reincarnation of Chanoch, who would sew together shoes.  Through the Tikkun HaKlali, we sew shoes for the Shechinah (the Divine Presence).  Save me from the klipah of Haman-Amalek.  Save me from the klipah of Haman-Amalek.”
