Members of the “Afuyim Belibo” organization for young men merited to come to the home of our Rebbe Rav Eliezer Berland shlit”a on Monday 14 Av for a shiur.
The Rav shlit”a gave over a long shiur of around an hour and a half. Below is a summary of some of the subjects discussed during the shiur:
During the shiur, the Rav gave chizzuk to learning Torah during Bein HaZmanin (summer vacation), saying that this is the time to learn twice as much, as the Chazon Ish says, along with going to pray at the graves of Tzaddikim to work yeshuot (salvations) for the Jewish people. The Rav continued to give great chizzuk about the importance of learning Torah at all times, saying that all the problems of domestic tranquility come from when a person doesn’t learn.
The Rav spoke about Eliyahu HaNavi at the “cleft of the rock,” and how Eliyahu said to the Kadosh Baruch Hu, “I want the mouth of Moshe” as it says, “Mouth-to-mouth do I speak to him, in a clear vision and not in riddles.” The Kadosh Baruch Hu said to him, “If you want to be like Moshe, go to all the britot.”
Towards the end of the shiur, the Rav discussed the level of accepting insults with love, as is brought in Likutey Moharan 12, that the more that a Tzaddik is disparaged, the more he ascends higher and higher.
