The Daily Chizzuk with Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlita — the Rav’s holy words with 8th graders in Talmud Torah Nechemat Tzion
These are his holy words:
It is barely permitted to sleep on Shabbat, barely…
Shabbat isn’t for words and not for [eating] seeds — seeds are forbidden. Whoever learns in Shuvu Banim, seeds are forbidden to him!
This is just animal feed, to become corrupted — not for Shabbat Kodesh.
You can eat some sandwich, some cake — not seeds.
Every day finish Tehilim, learn Rishonim. It’s possible to finish Orchot Tzaddikim, with ease it’s possible to finish the book — to learn how much they were strict — it’s barely permissible to say “Shalom” [because of the holiness of Shabbat].
