The Secret of Esther Ateret Yesod of Aba – Daily Ma’amar of Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlit”a

The Daily Ma’amar of our Rebbe Rav Eliezer Berland shlit”a, written on Monday, parashat Vayahkel-Pekudei.

Esther, that she is Ateret Yesod of Aba, breaks through Yesod of Ema, Yesod of Zeir Anpin, and Yesod of Rachel, that she is Yael – initial letters of “Yechaper Alav L’doroteichem – Will atone for him for your generations” [Shemot 30:10].

And this is what the Tzelelfonit (numerical value Shimshon [=696]) said: “The woman came and she said to her husband, saying ‘A man of God came to me, and his appearance was like the appearance of an angel of God – very awesome, and I did not ask him from where he was and his name he did not tell me.  He said to me, “Behold, you will conceive and will give birth to a son, and now do not drink wine or aged wine, and do not eat anything contaminated, because the lad will be a nazirite unto God from the womb until the day of his death”’” (Shoftim 13:6-7).  And therefore, Rabbi Shimon says that one who takes a nazirite vow like Shimshon, no status of a nazirite is applied to him, because this is not something that is vowed and not something that is taken as a nazirite [vow], because Shimshon was a nazirite only through the word of the angel and not through his own word and not through his father’s word.

“God heard the voice of Manoach, and the angel of God came again to the woman and she was sitting [alone] in the field” (Shoftim ibid 9).  The angel reveals itself twice only to the woman and not to the husband.

Because the woman is more innocent, and no woman sinned, not with the calf, and not with the sin of the spies, and not with the sin of Korach.

Outside of Korach’s wife, who wanted her husband to be the sole leader instead of Moshe Rabbein and Aharon HaKohen.

And all this the women merited to in the merit of [them] going out immediately after the splitting of the Red Sea with dances and drums, and musical instruments, which they took with them in their leaving Egypt, because, says the Midrash HaGadol, they knew and were certain that there would be with them miracles and wonders which had not been since the creation of the world.
