The Secret of the Purim Festival – Daily Ma’amar by R’ Eliezer Berland Shlit”a

The Daily Ma’amar, written by our Rebbe Rav Eliezer Berland shlit”a on the day of Shushan Purim, courtesy of the “Hashem Hu HaElokim” leaflet:

The Secret of the Yesodot of Aba and Ema, the secret of the Purim Festival!!!

On Purim, through fasting for three days, day and night, without interruption, without eating or drinking, they merited to sweeten all the decrees in the world, and to nullify the accusation that they enjoyed the banquet of Achashverosh and ate tereifot and drank libation wine, and so out of sheer despair, everyone married gentile women, and the women married gentile men.

And therefore, “the city of Shushan was bewildered” (Esther 3:15) – because all the people of Shushan, women and men, already married gentiles out of sheer despair, that they saw that it is already 70 years and the Temple still has not been rebuilt, and still the redemption has not come, as Yirmiyahu had promised, that at the end of seventy years of the kingdom of Babylonia, everyone would return to their land and [the Temple] would be rebuilt.

Then Esther came and said (Esther 4:16): “Fast for me for three days.”  And so said the holy Rav, the Rav Tzaddik Avraham Elimelech of Karlin, that if they would have fasted on Rosh Hashanah, immediately at the beginning of the war and Holocaust, for three days, immediately the horrible decree would have been cancelled.

Because the moment that [people] fast for three days, night and day, immediately every decree in the world is cancelled.

Then the Yesodot of Aba and Ema are joined together, and the Yesod of Yisrael Saba with Tevunah, and through this, the soul of Queen Esther is drawn, that specifically at the ultimate concealment, specifically then, the ultimate holiness is revealed.  That the Yesod of Aba breaks through the Yesod of Ema, the Yesod of Zeir Anpin, and the Yesod of Rachel.  That this is the secret of unravelling the [whole] Megilah [before reading it], to show that the Yesod of Aba breaks through all the Yesodot, and spreads outside the Yesod of Rachel.

And this is the secret of “Mordechai – crowned with his names (Nimuso),” because Nimus is the numerical value of 166 – Yud, Yud Key, Yud Key Vav, Yud Key Vav Key – 20 plus 35 plus 48 plus 63 = 166, which is the Achoraim (back) of Yesod of Ema in Rebua.  And this is “crowned with his names,” that Mordechai merited to be surrounded and crowned with the name of Yesod of Ema, and through this, they merited to the complete redemption.
