The Daily Ma’amar of our Rebbe Rav Eliezer Berland shlit”a, written on Sunday, Parashat Ki Tisa, which speaks about the secret of “until half the kingdom” and what Mordechai and Esther did according to the inner secrets of Purim.
Below is a translation of the Ma’amar, which is courtesy of the “Hashem Hu HaElokim” leaflet:
Achashverosh, who was a spark from Bela ben Beor, who was Da’at (knowledge) of the klipah (impure husks), wanted to subdue Mordechai and Esther, and bring the sefirah (divine emanation) of Malchut (kingship) into the depths of the klipot.
And he knew, that now, at seventy years of the exile, the artisans and the gatekeepers [a metaphor for the Torah scholars and leaders] are working already for seventy years to remove Malchut from amidst the klipot, through “Wisdom sustains its possessors.”
Because the animal – when it is alive it is in the secret of wisdom (Chochmah), the secret of wisdom in the Nogah that is in the klipah. And when it is slaughtered, it is in the secret of the mentality of understanding (Binah) in the Nogah of the klipah.
And all the work of Esther and Mordechai, and the artisans and the gatekeepers was to take out Jerusalem – which is the aspect of judgment – Rachel, to Tzion, in the aspect of Leah, which is mercy. Because the woman is half judgment and half mercy, and she needs to turn the half of judgment to mercy, to the aspect of Tzion.
Because the klipah of Og, which is the klipah of Achashverosh, becomes overwhelming in every generation anew, through his four wives, that they are the aspect of “Behold, his bed is a bed of iron (BaRZeL)” (Devarim 3:11), the initial letters of Bilhah Rachel Zilpah Leah. Because Og and Achashverosh, which are the symbol of the Samech-Mem, that his four wives are an aspect of two which are four. Because Leah and Rachel – the root, and Bilhah and Zilpah – the effects.
Because there are two birds of holiness in the aspect of “Rachel and Leah,” and there are two birds of the klipah in the aspect of “Bilhah and Zilpah,” which are twice MaNTzaPaCh – 2 times 280, numerical value “Inkwell 560 of the scribe.” That they are the klipot of Bilhah and Zilpah, that only Yaakov can subdue them.
Because Netzach Hod Yesod [the emanations of Victory Splendor Foundation] of Binah are opposite Chochmah Binah Da’at [Wisdom Understanding Knowledge] of Zeir Anpin [the Divine aspect known as “The Small Face”]. Because Mordechai and Esther merited to bring to the world the Fiftieth Gate of Holiness, which is an aspect of “a male son” 33 days = the name Havayah 26 and another seven days of purity.
Because the first 7 days of purity come out on the days of Passover, and afterwards 26 days of purity, that then the mentalities of Wisdom and Understanding of Zeir Anpin are drawn. Until Lag B’Omer, that then is the revelation of the true Tzaddik, who is an aspect of Rashbi – Mordechai.
And then the Eighth King appears, he is Hadar, in the aspect of Mordechai the King Messiah, and then there needed to be the complete redemption, in the year 14 of Achashverosh, which is 11 years of the banquet after three years of his kingship, when then he was certain that the emanation of Kingship already would never leave the hands of the klipot.
And then appeared – in the year 13 of his reign – Mordechai and Esther, and proved to him the exact opposite, “And it was turned about: the Jews prevailed over their adversaries” (Esther 9:1), and the emanation of Kingship left the klipot completely, and the Third Temple was built on 3 Adar (Ezra 6).
