Rosh Chodesh Elul 5779, the month of mercy and forgiveness, the month auspicious for teshuvah (repentance), in which our teacher, the holy Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, said, "A person must know that he was created to be a true, great tzaddik, even if he does everything the opposite way. The Rebbe (Rebbe Nachman) says that it doesn't matter; as long as he doesn't fall in the middle of the way and doesn't leave me, he will be a great tzaddik such as there has never been in all generations, and no tzaddik will be able to reach his level."

Here is a Brit Milah (circumcision) that was held on this great day, "the greatest day of the year," as our teacher Rabbi Berland shlit"a says, followed by the blowing of the Shofar at the end of the Shacharit (morning) prayer—the blast that straightens hearts toward teshuvah (repentance) in the month of Elul.
