Shiur at the home of our teacher, Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a, for the third-year students of Yeshivat 'Chochma V'Daat' ■ Utilizing time, prayer with intention, and in-depth Gemara study ■ Singing 'It is a great mitzvah to always sharpen the intellect'

The third-year students of Yeshivat Chochma V'Daat, under the presidency of our teacher, Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a, were privileged—today, Monday, the 4th of Adar II—to enter into the inner sanctum for an especially strengthening shiur for the beloved students. Sitting alongside our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, were the Rosh Yeshiva, HaGaon Rav M.M. Ashlag shlit"a, and the director of the institutions, Rabbi Natan Chananya shlit"a.

In the shiur, our teacher, the Rav, began by stating that if one wishes to build the Holy Temple, one must take hold of the Gemara, and in this way, the Holy Temple will be built. Afterward, our teacher, the Rav, encouraged the study and review of the Gemara, bringing the study to the point of 'halacha l'ma'aseh' (practical application), studying the Ketzot HaChoshen and the commentators of the Gemara in depth, and connecting the topics just as our holy Rebbe writes in Torah 105.

Following this, he moved to Torah 62, where our Rebbe writes that 'it is a great mitzvah to sharpen the intellect,' and our teacher, the Rav, began to sing with the students, 'It is a great mitzvah to always sharpen the intellect...' with a burning fire for about five minutes, as all the beloved students sang together with our teacher, the Rav shlit"a.

Afterward, our teacher, the Rav, continued from Torah 62 that through Torah, one can pray with enthusiasm, and that whenever a person does not feel a desire for prayer, it is because they are not studying Gemara and the poskim (halachic authorities) in depth.

After the shiur, which lasted about forty-five minutes, our teacher, the Rav, blessed the students that they should ascend higher and higher in Torah and fear of Heaven.

The moved students left the home of our teacher, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, straight to the Maariv prayer in the courtyard of the prayer hall.
