“Hold Back Your Voice from Weeping”

Silent prayer and Tikkun HaKlali at the Tomb of Rachel Imeinu ○ Erev Rosh Chodesh Av

Our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, departed last night – the night of the 29th of Tammuz, Erev Rosh Chodesh Av – from his holy abode at 23:15, and arrived at the 'road to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem' – the Tomb of Rachel Imeinu, at 23:40. Although the site is closed to the general public during these hours, our teacher, the Rav shlit"a, was brought in alone, close to midnight, with a small minyan of attendants and grandchildren, to Mame Rachel.

Our teacher, the Rav, approached and kissed the holy tomb and began reciting four Tikkun HaKlali prayers with melody and pleasantness. After the Tikkun HaKlali, our teacher, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, recited Kaddish with melodies and concluded with a silent prayer for the sake of the People of Israel. Upon leaving, our teacher, the Rav, blessed several of the avreichim who study in the evening kollel at the site, and returned to his holy abode at 12:40.
