5778 IS THE YEAR OF THE COMING OF MOSHIACH

The following is an excerpt of some of the comments Rav Eliezer Berland, shlita, recently meeting during his gathering in Rechovot. Click the video to see a clip of the gathering, and hear the Rav speak.

Moshe Rabbenu waited 40 years, to receive the Torah. Rav Succot is already waiting 50 years, exactly 50 years ago we met by the bris of Rav Dovid Kramer. His father (Rav Moshe Kramer) should live to 120, is the greatest leader of Breslov in this generation, Rebbe Nachman brought down all the commandments to this generation through him.

5778 is the year of the coming of Moshiach, and he merited that Rabbenu (Rebbe Nachman) would transfer everything across via him, because until the coming of Moshiach, there is not going to be another Neshama (soul) like this. He merited to be an ibbur (to manifest a spiritual soul spark) of Rabbenu, mamash.

> The Netiv said: “Wherever I assemble, that is where the gevulot (boundaries, borders) will be.”

In 1881, no-one even dreamed there would be a [Jewish] state, we didn’t even dream about our borders.

That was the year of the Ayala BeTamar [this was the sobriquet given to the aliya of hundreds of Jews from Yemen, who moved to Eretz Yisrael in 1881]. The olim (immigrants to Israel) connected their aliya to the verse: “I said ayala beTamar.”[1] (I will plant a tamar, a date palm - The Song of Songs, 7:9).

The phrase בתמר, beTamar, is a rearrangement of the letters תרמ"ב, (which was the date of the Hebrew year when the immigrants from Yemen moved to Israel). This is the biggest year that ever was in the world, the year of the aliya from Yemen.

But they put them in the caves next to the grave of Rav Ovadia miBartenura (one of the commentators on the Mishna). The immigrants from Yemen lived there for a year, two years.

Only Jews really know how to pray, but today even by us, we don’t know how to pray anymore. We have to say each word after each word when we pray. If we do it any other way, we won’t bring the shefa (bounty, sustenance) down.

Only Rebbe Nachman says: “I will make known Your emuna (faith) with my mouth.” (Tehillim 89:2). Emuna is in the mouth, not in the heart. People say ‘I’ve got emuna, I believe in my heart, I’m clean, I have a pure heart.’

Emuna is: “I will make known Your emuna.” Don’t stay in bed, don’t just listen to the Breslov line and continue sleeping. Emuna is when you get up and recite all the korbanot prayers, because all of us require an asham (guilt) offering, and all of us require a hatat offering, and if not in this reincarnation, then from a previous lifetime.”

[1] In the original Hebrew, אעלה has a number of different meanings, including ‘to rise up’, ‘to grow’, ‘to promote’, ‘to sacrifice’ and ‘to immigrate to Israel’, so this verse is a play on words.
