"777" Will Only Come Again in Another Thousand Years—Therefore Moshiach Must Come Specifically This Year" - The Holy Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a
The soul of Rebbe Nachman is the “grandfather of grandfathers”—the soul that flew away from Adam HaRishon before the sin. In Rebbe Nachman, no spiritual impurity ever clung. Adam HaRishon sinned 5,777 years ago, and our year—5777 (Tav-Shin-Ayin-Zayin)—corresponds to “777” and sweetens that sin. The Men of the Great Assembly knew that this secret is the greatest of all.
“777” will only be again in another thousand years; therefore Moshiach must come specifically in this year. And everyone who was in Uman and participated in Rebbe Nachman’s yahrzeit will now merit that all their sins are forgiven. Because the Rebbe seals us for a good life and for peace—endless life, eternal life, like Serach bas Asher. For the early generations, who drew nourishment from Arich Anpin, lived more than nine hundred years.
King Yotam did not place the crown on his head, even though he reigned for 16 years; therefore, whoever says “Yotam” has his sins forgiven. And together with Rashbi and Rabbi Elazar his son, it is possible to erase all sins—if a person does true teshuvah. So the moment we dance and rejoice and sing without end, the sins of all of Israel will be forgiven. Because the fact that we were written in the book of true Tzaddikim is not enough if the rest of Israel will be harmed. Now we merit that all of the people of Israel will be sealed for life.
Kayin had dates, pomegranates, and fine fruits, but he brought before Hashem only flax. From whom was he hiding this? Rabbi Nosson reveals: this refers to all the wicked of all generations—Kayin wanted to elevate all the souls and save them, but it is only possible to save them through dancing and joy.
