A Lesson for Shuvu Banim Be’er Sheva in the Holy Residence of the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Our cherished friends in the city of Be’er Sheva merited to enter into the inner holiness on Monday night, the 21st of Adar—the yahrtzeit of the Rebbe, Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk zy"a—for a special lesson delivered by The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, in his residence.
In the lesson, The Rav spoke about Miriam, who married Kalev, and about the Gemara in Sotah 12a—that she was made to appear abandoned and repulsive so that no one would take her, and she would be kept for Kalev. Along the way, he also spoke about the match of Yitzchak and Rivkah, and about the questions Eliezer had regarding Avraham. He said that the Tzaddik knows the shidduch destined for each person. He related that R’ Shmuel Shapira did not look at his fiancée at all, and even though she had a mark on her face he insisted on marrying her—and the day after the chuppah, the mark disappeared in a miraculous way!

After that, he spoke about the greatness of the yahrtzeit day of the Rebbe, Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk, and he encouraged traveling to his tziyun on the yahrtzeit. Later in the lesson, he spoke about the “mirrors of the women who gathered,” mentioned in this week’s parashah, Pekudei, and he spoke about the greatness of a mother’s prayer for her children. At the end of the lesson, he spoke about how, because Eli’s sons—Chofni and Pinchas—did not allow women to enter to pray in the Beis HaMikdash, and they told them, “Come tomorrow,” therefore thirty thousand people were killed.
