A Lesson from Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a at the Memorial for the Girl Chaya Levi a"h

On the occasion of the second yahrzeit of the tragic passing of the late girl, Chaya Levi a"h, daughter of ybdlcht"a—R’ Shai Levi hy"v, one of our community—on 11 Kislev, members of our community gathered at the Mageni Eretz Beis Midrash for the yahrzeit meal. At the yahrzeit, rabbis and family members shared words of Torah for the elevation of the soul of the departed.

First, HaRav HaGaon Rabbi Yehoshua Cohen shlit"a, a maggid shiur at Yeshivas Chut Shel Chesed, spoke about the importance of making the most of one’s time. After that, the Rosh Yeshiva of “Nachalei Netzach,” HaRav HaChassid R’ Shmuel Stern shlit"a, spoke as well. He published the second volume of Likkutei Moharan—“The Simple Explanation” edition—in memory of the late girl a"h.

At the conclusion of the yahrzeit, The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, delivered a lesson that was broadcast live by video from his home. In the brief shiur that The Rav shlit"a gave, he spoke about the greatness of the girl’s soul—how she certainly came into this world to accomplish a tikkun. He also spoke from the weekly Torah portion about the matter of Serach bas Asher. He concluded by saying that a soul like Chaya Levi’s will not be seen again until Moshiach comes speedily in our days, amen!

May her soul be bound up in the bond of life!
