A Prayer: Master of the Universe, Let Me Never Be Angry at Anyone, Only Love Everyone with All My Soul, and Yearn for You Day and Night
Master of the Universe, may I always wake up on time and always go out to the field every night at Chatzos (midnight) [for Hisbodedus], and may I always be in a state of joy. May I recite Tikkun Chatzos (the midnight lament over the Temple) every day, and also study much Gemara. Master of the Universe, You know my heart. You know where I am holding—in what lowest depths of the abyss and even beneath it, trapped in such forbidden thoughts. And now I have come to You, the Merciful and Gracious One, who created me to constantly yearn for You and to always rejoice in You. I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last upon the earth, even though I am the worst of all and possess the worst soul in the world. Nevertheless, I know that You can elevate me to the highest of heights, and there is no spiritual level in the world to which You cannot raise me. The entire longing of my heart is to be the best and most wonderful Jew in the world—a Torah scholar and a tzaddik, to know the entire Shas (Talmud), and to study Torah day and night without pause. And You, my Rock and my Redeemer, can make this happen—that I will study Torah day and night without interruption, for nothing is beyond Your capability. Please, Merciful and Gracious One, act in Your abundant mercy so that I will study Torah day and night, become a tzaddik and a scholar, and always be filled with joy. May I always bring joy to Yossi Rosner and to everyone else. May all my friends love me, and may I love them, so that we can all rejoice together. May all my thoughts and meditations be solely upon the holy Torah, day and night, and may I never lift my head from the holy books, not even for a brief moment.
Master of the Universe, help me to love my wife with an eternal love, and never divert my attention from her, not even for a single second. May I know with absolute certainty that she is the holy soul from before the creation of the world, which You hewed out for me from the world of souls, from beneath the Throne of Glory. May I love her with a faithful and eternal love, and never forget her, not even for a brief moment. May I study Torah with her every day, and especially throughout the entire Shabbos. May my love for her be so great that I will not need to sleep at all. May I truly recognize my own lowliness and insignificance, knowing that I am infinitely lower than her. May my entire desire and yearning be solely to listen to her voice, day and night. May I learn from her the proper conduct of waking up in the morning, and may we recite Tikkun Chatzos together, word for word, night after night.
