A Prayer to Say Before Birchas HaIlanos, from the holy gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

“One who goes out in the days of Nissan and sees trees bringing forth blossoms says…” Before you are two prayers written by the holy gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a to say before Birchas HaIlanos:

To merit to hear the Song of the Trees, and for the rectification of the heel that Yaakov holds from Esav Before Birchas HaIlanos

Master of the world, Almighty, merit me to hear the Song of the Trees, and the song of the angel who has 1,000 heads; and each head has 1,000 mouths; and each mouth has a thousand voices; and each voice has a thousand melodies. About this it is said: “The meadows are clothed with flocks, and the valleys are wrapped in grain; they shout for joy, they even sing” (Tehillim, chapter 65, verse 14). When do the stalks say song—in Nissan? Rashi explains “they shout for joy, they even sing” as referring to Nissan: when the time of harvest arrives in Nissan, and the wind blows through the stalks, and the stalks strike against one another, they appear as though they are saying song. For according to Rabbi Yehoshua, it was said to Adam HaRishon on the first of Nissan, “From every tree of the garden you may surely eat.” And Chavah squeezed grapes and gave him to drink—because “grapes” (anavim) has the same numerical value as “heel” (akev), and grapes are squeezed by means of the heel. And Yaakov—through the letter yud—rectifies the heel; therefore his hand grasps the heel of Esav.

To merit, through Birchas HaIlanos, to rectify and elevate all the new souls that are impregnated within the trees, within the branches, and within the fruits—and to bless over them with tremendous kavanah, to rectify all the souls in creation

Master of the world, Almighty, merit me—before Birchas HaIlanos—to focus on the rectification and elevation of the new souls that become impregnated within the new trees, within the new branches, within the new blossoming, and within the new fruits. For a person is a tree of the field; and within all the flowers, trees, and grasses, each and every year, completely new souls become impregnated. Their elevation and their tikkun come only through the blessing over the trees—and afterward, the blessing over the fruits and eating them in holiness and purity, solely for the sake of Heaven, without any physical gratification, Heaven forbid. For each and every year, completely new souls become impregnated within the fruits and within the blossoms—within the trees, within the branches, within the leaves, and within the twigs. And all of creation, each and every year, is renewed completely. And merit us, Hashem our G-d, through Birchas HaIlanos and through eating the fruits, to bring about for all the souls impregnated within the blossoms and within the fruits their complete tikkun, and that they should have a complete ascent. And may they help us serve You in wholeness and in truth—solely for the sake of Heaven—and may they bestow upon me every good, because I blessed with tremendous kavanah and I ate them with tremendous holiness, solely for the sake of Heaven in truth. Just as it is said, “with the mirrors of the women who assembled”—that Moshe took the mirrors of the most righteous women, who had pure intention for the sake of Heaven in truth, and from them he made the Kiyor.

“Blessed are You, Hashem, our G-d, King of the universe, Who lacked nothing in His world, and created within it good creatures and good trees, for human beings to benefit from them.”
