A Rare Statement by Rabbi Binyamin Ze'ev Kanfelmacher Regarding Rav Berland
"This Cannot Be True"

A rare statement by Rabbi Binyamin Ze'ev Knapelmacher regarding Rav Berland and the controversy ("This cannot be true") and about the open miracle that saved his life ("It is impossible to deny")
A rare recorded statement by the esteemed Rabbi Binyamin Ze'ev Knapelmacher, one of the prominent figures of Breslov in Jerusalem, regarding Rav Berland and the controversy. The conversation took place during a thanksgiving meal he held this week with his family members to mark the miracle that happened to him several years ago on the holiday of Shavuot, when he suffered a severe stroke from which he recovered miraculously. How? You won't believe it.
R' Binyamin Ze'ev describes the miracle:
"On the eve of Shavuot, Pinchas (the eldest son of R' Binyamin Ze'ev) was with me, along with the son of Mordechai, Yossi Knapelmacher. They stayed there (at the hospital) on Shabbat; they made Kiddush, I drank from the wine, and I lost consciousness for two days. And Rabbi Eliezer Berland, whatever happened happened, it is impossible to deny, R' Leizer Berland came to visit me, he said to Pinchas: 'On my shoulder, within twenty-four hours he will get up.' Twenty-four hours passed, Duki Greenwald calls you (R' Pinchas): 'Your father has gotten up.'"
The son, R' Shimon, may he live and be well, who was present: "When he said the Tikkun HaKlali, you tried to get up."
R' Binyamin Ze'ev: "He said the Tikkun HaKlali several times, for a whole hour; on the computer, I have pictures of this."
One of those present: What do you say about all the controversy now? There is a difficult controversy now, the rabbis have issued a new letter.
R' Binyamin Ze'ev: "For me, this whole business is a wonder. I don't understand, if it is true, how is it possible to study for ten hours straight after that? How? This is one of the questions I have. It cannot be. He can sit and study for ten hours straight, pray the Amidah for several hours—how can this be? It doesn't add up in my mind, it cannot be true. It doesn't make sense to me, how can it be that a person has both these powers? How can it be? He can pray the Amidah for three hours and cry like a baby. If everything were true, he wouldn't be able to pray for three hours."
