A Shiur for the People of Bat Yam in the Home of The Rav
Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

The people of Bat Yam merited to enter a lesson in the inner sanctum ○ A fiery lesson on the Sefirah of Gevurah shebeYesod ○ Continuing the lesson with an in-depth study of Torah
A group of our people, residents of the city of Bat Yam, merited to enter this evening, the night of the 23rd of Iyar, for a lesson in the inner sanctum. Our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, delivered a fiery lesson to the group for forty minutes.
At the beginning of the lesson, our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, spoke about the virtue of the Sefirah of Gevurah shebeYesod [the lesson began a few minutes before sunset, while it was still the Sefirah of Gevurah shebeYesod].
He spoke about how a person must merit the quality of Gevurah (strength) every day. Just as King David, peace be upon him, merited to fight lions and bears, as the verse states: "Your servant has struck down both the lion and the bear" (I Samuel 17:36).
Afterwards, he spoke about the question of the Ketzot HaChoshen in Siman 61 (Section 4, 3) regarding how David betrothed Merav by killing Goliath, when that is worth less than a perutah? He answered like the Mabit, that since Saul promised great wealth to whoever would kill Goliath, through this wealth he betrothed Merav with this loan. He then continued to speak on the depth of the Halachah regarding additional topics in this Siman and those branching from it.
After forty minutes, our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, instructed one of the participants to recite the Kaddish following the lesson, and the group went out for Ma'ariv prayers with our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a.
