A Shiur for the Shuvu Banim Kollel Avreichim in the Old City, at the Home of HaGa"tz Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

This past Monday, a shiur was held for the avreichim of the Shuvu Banim Kollel in the Old City of Jerusalem, may it be rebuilt and established, at the holy residence of HaGa"tz Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a.

Below is a brief summary from the shiur:

The Rav shlit"a opened the shiur with topics from Gittin in the Rambam, explaining that even if two simanim are slaughtered for a person, one still cannot betroth a woman on that basis—because he is still considered alive. Afterward, for about half the shiur, he spoke about his trip to the tziyun of Rabbi Yeshaya ben Rabbi Moshe of Kerestir. He related several stories of miracles that Rabbi Yeshayil’eh brought about after his passing, and also his promise before the Holocaust—that whoever would serve him with Emunah, their grandchildren would be saved—and so it was. In the second part of the shiur, he spoke in Aggadah on many subjects, including the building of Jericho and how Eliyahu HaNavi held back the rains. The Rav also mentioned in the shiur that all punishments come because of the sale of Yosef, and he spoke as well about the tragedies that took place on Simchas Torah.
