A Shiur for the Young Men from the “Sefas Emes” Yeshivah—Gur, at the Residence of the gaon and tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, more than a minyan of holy, precious young men—who yearn to rise higher and sanctify themselves during these sacred and exalted days—gathered and entered further into the inner sanctum for a special shiur from The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a.

These young men are from the “Sefas Emes” Yeshivah, under the leadership of the Rebbe of Gur shlit"a. From time to time, they merit to come to The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a—to sit in his shade and delight in the radiance of his splendor—so that they can elevate themselves and then return to their learning in the Gur yeshivah with greater strength and renewed vigor.

For this purpose, as mentioned, they merited this past Thursday night, on the eve of 7 Tishrei 5784, to enter further into the inner sanctum and hear words of Hashem from The Rav shlit"a for about fifty minutes—a fiery, blazing shiur. In it, The Rav shlit"a spoke about many topics, including: learning Gemara in depth, guarding one’s eyes, and completing Shas each and every year. The Rav shlit"a also spoke in the form of Aggadah from Tanach, focusing mainly on the account of how Bilam the wicked advised that a barrel containing a thousand snakes be hidden beneath the Even HaShetiyah, so that there would be no recovery for the “enemies” of Israel, may Hashem protect us—and this is what David sought to remove when he dug at the Even HaShetiyah.
