A Shiur in the Home of the Gaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a for the
Residents of Zichron Yaakov

How did over thirty avreichim, Torah scholars, draw close to our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a? ○ Coverage from the lesson delivered to the participants ○ How the stay of our teacher, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, in Zichron Ya'akov influenced this drawing close
Over thirty G-d-fearing avreichim, Torah scholars, the cream of the crop of the city of Zichron Ya'akov, merited to draw close to the light of lights of our holy Rebbe (may his merit protect us) and to the unique path of our teacher, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a.
This drawing close began about two years ago, when a lesson in Kabbalah on the order of the Etz Chaim began to be held in the town adjacent to Zichron Ya'akov—Or Akiva—by the esteemed Rabbi Shlomo Elmaliach shlit"a, one of the students of our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, and author of the commentary 'Ateret Shlomo' on the Etz Chaim. During the lessons on Kabbalah, Rabbi Shlomo Elmaliach shlit"a began to speak of the teachings and commentaries of our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, as it is known to all the vast scope and knowledge that our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, possesses in the depths of the secrets of Kabbalah.
The avreichim in the group, who began to hear a little of the words and novel insights of our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, thirsted like those longing for water to receive more from the 'flowing stream,' and thus they merited to draw closer and closer. The highlight was last year, when our teacher, the Rav shlit"a, stayed in the city of Zichron Ya'akov—as one of the important Torah scholars in the city tells us: 'There is no doubt that the fact that our teacher, the Rav, came to the city gave a serious push to the entire matter of drawing close in this place.'
Those avreichim merited to enter into the inner sanctum for a special lesson from our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a. In the lesson, which lasted nearly an hour, our teacher, the Rav shlit"a, spoke of novel insights from the weekly Torah portion, 'Shelach-Lecha,' and other topics, while interweaving his holy words with all the treasures of the holy Torah.
