All Lost Objects Are With the Tzaddik

The Tzaddik has returned to the city, and the stories surrounding him flow like a mighty river on a rainy winter day. Rebbe Nachman writes that all lost objects are found with the Tzaddik. Here are two stories that reached us through Chagai from Holon—fresh, refreshing, and strengthening—about the Tzaddik who returns lost objects to all who come to him.

"I have a friend named Tomer who lives in my neighborhood in Holon and hadn't seen The Rav, Rabbi Berland shlit"a, for many years. Naturally, with the return of Rabbi Berland shlit"a to Jerusalem, he began attending prayers with the Rav. He asked Rabbi Berland shlit"a to bless his father due to the heavy debts he had fallen into, and the Rav, in a surprising manner, gave him blessings [instructing him] to go and bless other people with them."

"Tomer is a student, and this week he lost his ID card, which also contained many important documents. As a result, he became stressed and immediately declared that if he found the ID card along with the documents, he would give the Rav one thousand shekels for a Pidyon (redemption). The salvation was not long in coming; within an hour or two, friends from the college called him saying they had found the ID card."

Another story occurred with Eliran Zohar, who lives in the Jesse Cohen neighborhood in Holon, during the Hillula (celebration of the anniversary of passing) of Shmuel HaNavi (Samuel the Prophet). Eliran arrived at the Tziyun (gravesite) of Shmuel HaNavi in Jerusalem and lost his car keys there. It was night, pitch black, nothing could be seen, and he could not find the keys. Immediately, he took upon himself that if he found the keys, he would come to the Netz (sunrise) prayer with The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. Five minutes later, they brought him the keys.

Fortunate are we that we have merited this.
