An Emotional Evening at the Distribution of 'Chanukah Gelt' with the Esteemed Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a - Eighth Night of Chanukah 5780

The eighth night of Chanukah opened with a great light that only continues to grow, in the holy courtyard of Breslov Shuvu Banim. Even before the central lighting in the prayer hall, our teacher, the esteemed Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, continued the tradition of 'Chanukah Gelt' distribution, as a large crowd came to Rav Berland's home to receive blessings from the tzaddik.
With a personal and warm approach, and a gentle smile on his face, our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a received each and every one who came to him. Our teacher Rav Berland distributed the gelt and refreshments to them, and also answered their questions.
A fresh and wonderful story that occurred during the audience, which came to us from one of the community's scholars, sheds some light on the wonderful vision of our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a and his holy spirit.
The scholar recounts, "For about a week, my wife and I have not been in good health, with fever, aches, etc., an unpleasant situation. We very much wanted to come and be blessed by our teacher Rav Berland, but due to the situation, we were unable. Fortunately, we were able to send our eldest son, who also served as a messenger for the entire family."
"Our son, very excited by the occasion, could not open his mouth to tell our teacher Rav Berland about the situation at home, but behold a wonder. Our teacher Rav truly saw the whole picture, and thus he kept the son by his side almost throughout the entire audience."
"Despite all the pressure caused by the large number of attendees, the Rav continued to give extraordinary attention to the son. Suddenly, our teacher Rav Berland turned to him and said, 'Take these two ointments, one is for the mouth, and the other for joint pain.'"
Needless to say, our teacher Rav Berland was completely accurate in the treatment he sent us, and again, this was without our son saying a word to him.
"This was not the end of the story. When the son returned home and recounted what happened with our teacher Rav Berland, great excitement gripped the family - we all felt that beyond the healing sent to us by the tzaddik, a message of peace and fatherly warmth was extended to us. We felt that our teacher Rav Berland was really saying to us - I know everything you are going through, and I am with you."
