"And So, the Righteous" • The Sheva Brachos Celebration for the Great-Granddaughter of the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, with the Participation of the Spinka-Donolo Rebbe shlit"a
A Lesson on the Greatness of the Groom and the Days of Sheva Brachos ○ Song and Dancing ○ Sheva Brachos
Last night, Rosh Chodesh (the New Month of) Nissan, the "New Year for Kings," the final Sheva Brachos (seven blessings) celebration was held for the Rav's great-granddaughter, the daughter of Rabbi Chaim Reicher shlit"a, son-in-law of the Zucker family, with the groom, the distinguished young man Avraham Alter Chaim, son of Rabbi David Levy shlit"a, one of the prominent Spinka Chassidim in Bnei Brak. Shortly after 6:00 PM, the Rav (Rabbi Berland) shlit"a entered to the singing of "The voice of joy and salvation is in the tents of the righteous." As he sat in his place, he began delivering a lesson with great joy. The Rav shlit"a spoke at length and exhorted the crowd regarding the holiness of man, emphasizing that one must know that what is forbidden before the wedding remains forbidden even afterward. He spoke extensively about the greatness of the holy days of Sheva Brachos (the seven days of celebration) and the high spiritual standing of the groom during these sublime days. During his words, he also mentioned the matter of the Nesi'im (the Princes of the Tribes whose offerings are read during Nissan) and other topics from all the depths of the holy Torah. After concluding the lesson, he began singing songs of deep emotion and joy for about twenty minutes. At their conclusion, a few minutes before sunset, he instructed to perform the Zimun (invitation to Grace After Meals) over a cup of wine, honoring R' Abba Turetsky (may Hashem protect him)—a close associate of the great Torah leaders known for gladdening hearts—who had come to participate in the celebration. During the Sheva Brachos, the Rav shlit"a honored the Spinka Rebbe shlit"a with the first two blessings, and R' David Solomon with the third blessing. Afterward, the Rav shlit"a himself recited in his pure voice from the fourth blessing until the final blessing. After the Sheva Brachos, the Rav shlit"a rose to dance with "holy fire" together with the Spinka Rebbe and the groom. The joy reached the heavens, and all the guests invited into the inner sanctum for the Sheva Brachos danced with immense vitality and great joy!
