Asher Elmaliach, Critically Injured in the Terror Attack at the Jerusalem Central Bus Station, Saved Thanks to a Redemption to Rabbi Berland shlit"a

"After 15 days of wavering between life and death, Asher Elmaliach, the security guard stabbed in the heart at the central bus station in Jerusalem, is beginning to awaken," thus opens the article from the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation. When skipping to minute 1:53 in the article, one hears what many in Israel already know from personal experience, "A redemption was just given to Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, and as soon as the Rabbi received the redemption, he said, 'That's it, now he will be healthy' - and so it was." Embedded from YouTube channel "Kan News - Israeli Broadcasting Corporation" for modesty we reduced the image

"The terrorist really disguised himself as an Israeli to the point where it was impossible to identify him as a terrorist. The terrorist had already successfully passed the security check at the entrance to the central station, but for some reason, my brother Asher caught him by the coat and asked him for his documents. The terrorist was shocked, especially since it turned out he was a resident of Shechem, the son of one of the officers in the PA. My brother asked him to remove the coat, but he did not reveal that he had a thick and long knife sharpened on both sides. The terrorist, seeing that my brother was checking his documents, leapt at him maliciously and stabbed the entire knife into his heart. Anyone who suffers such a thing dies without a doubt (the description is shocking and this is not the place to detail it). The professors told us that one in a million survives such a stab."

Sefer HaPirus on the Etz Chaim by Rabbi Shlomo Elmaliach[/caption] "Since then, miracles upon miracles have visited us, all behind which stands our teacher, the righteous Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. It started a month before the stabbing, when my brother Asher donated a large sum to me for the publication of the commentary I wrote on the 'Etz Chaim'. With his persuasion, I came to the central station to receive the money, and there he asked me to bless him, 'and charity saves from death'. Thanks to the charity, there was a MDA woman at the time of the stabbing who saved him from bleeding to death. When we told the Rabbi, he wanted us to immediately transfer a redemption, but the family did not understand the greatness of giving the redemption to the tzaddik. My son Nachman, seeing that the matter of the redemption was delayed, told the Rabbi he would give the redemption from him, but due to my brother's severe condition, the Rabbi said the redemption was not enough."
[audio mp3="https://www.shuvubanimint.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/מפעל-הפורמטיםאלמליח-2.mp3"][/audio]"In fact, my brother already had a punctured lung, broken ribs, and additional bodily injuries along with the terrible stab in the heart. At three in the morning, my brother passed away, and only with an external respirator were they able to revive him. My son again ran to our teacher Rabbi Berland shlit"a, who told him - 'Asher is in critical condition and we need to immediately bring him an amount for a redemption of the soul within a few minutes'. My son and son-in-law endeavored to raise the redemption, gave it to the Rabbi, and indeed his condition improved. I immediately turned to them and told them that under no circumstances would I allow the loans they took for the redemption to fall on them, and I take it all upon myself. In hindsight, it turned out that the entire amount my brother gave me a month before the stabbing was the amount transferred for the redemption to Rabbi Berland shlit"a. The amazing thing is that as soon as I gave the money for the redemption, I immediately felt a sweetness that cannot be described in words. I immediately called everyone and told them that Asher is alive, but everyone thought I had gone mad because they knew his condition was almost impossible."
"The next day, the hole from the knife in the heart closed, truly miraculously. Another day passed, and again a great miracle when the hole in the lung also closed, the matter was publicized throughout the country. The doctors were in shock that he began to communicate with us. The chief professor admitted to me that my brother's entire recovery was in an unnatural way. The merit of charity and self-sacrifice stood for my brother, but without a doubt, the merit of our teacher Rabbi Berland stood more than anything."
