Chana's Prayer on Chanukah • The Daily Lesson from Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Below is a summary of the topics from the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a – yesterday after the Ma'ariv prayer on Thursday night, the eve of the 6th of Tevet 5786, Parshat Vayigash:

1. Everyone should learn the gift of Hashem about Chana who prayed on Chanukah.
2. Moshe Rabbeinu also prayed on Chanukah "Strike the loins of those who rise against him."
3. The Chanukah menorah is a lamp of fire, the light of Chanukah is for the entire year, every Chanukah the light multiplies itself.
4. Each person multiplies themselves by a billion, resulting in every mitzvah a person does being multiplied by a billion.
5. It is possible to turn any metal into gold. And this the Rebbe says in Ma'aseh 13.
6. Today, Chatzot is at 23:04, one can say Tehillim and afterwards Chatzot until one. The sons should study 12 hours, 12 pages.
7. Yaakov did not believe it was Yosef until he saw the decapitated calf.
8. Yaakov learned with Yosef all the laws of the decapitated calf. And Yosef studied every day, only reviewing the decapitated calf, like Yankeleh the gatherer who studied only one page during the Holocaust. Every single page during the Holocaust is like a billion pages of Gemara.
9. "The bows of the mighty are broken" referred to the Greeks. "And those who stumbled are girded with strength" are the Hasmoneans. "Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread" refers to the seventy sons of Haman, "and the hungry have ceased" refers to Mordechai and Esther. "Until the barren has borne seven" applies to all generations for all the tribes, including Menashe who did teshuvah until the resurrection of the dead.
