“May the Year Begin with its Blessings”

At the threshold of the new year, members of our community – the partners of our Beit Midrash – merited to enter into the inner sanctum for the distribution of honey and to receive a blessing of Shana Tova from Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit"a.

Beginning last Wednesday, evening after evening, before the Ma’ariv prayer, the partners of our Beit Midrash entered one after another, each in his turn, to receive the honey from the holy hands of Moreinu HaRav shlit"a. Not only that, but each one merited personal attention: the Rav shlit"a asked about his well-being and blessed him with fatherly affection, pouring upon him a blessing for a good and sweet year. In those moments, when each person left filled with light, joy, and renewal for the coming year, this exalted moment became engraved in their hearts, as the very bond and connection to the Tzaddik, and the blessing from his holy lips, serve for us as a good opening for a year of light, joy, and devekut to Hashem.
