Divine Providence on the Way to Uman - The Daily Chizuk

Many journeys are saturated with unforgettable experiences, but sometimes the simplest stories are the ones that reveal the depth of emunah (faith) and bitachon (trust). The following story, from Morinu HaRav Rabbi Berland shlit"a, which takes place in the heart of Moscow on the way to the holy destination of Uman, demonstrates how deveikus (cleaving) to the tzaddik and pure faith can turn a daily challenge into a decisive proof of Divine Providence.

A Journey in Moscow

Trust in the Tzaddik

"When we were in Moscow on the way to Uman, we went to the restrooms. I left everything outside and said, 'The Rebbe is guarding.' We arrived with suitcases, just you and I were alone," Morinu HaRav Rabbi Berland shlit"a turned to his son, Rabbi Nachman shlit"a.

The Belongings Remain Outside

Faith Without Fear

"I left all the suitcases outside the airport, right there on the main road; you were a 14-year-old boy then. I left all the suitcases out there and said, 'The Rebbe is guarding, there is no fear at all.'"

Waiting and Returning

Reflections on the Deed

"It took about an hour. I took you to the restroom and we returned. I just remembered this. I left everything there, saying: 'What, are we going to drag the suitcases to the restroom? Suitcases?'"

The Power of the Tzaddik

The Decisive Proof

"The Rebbe is alive and endures; the Rebbe guards everything. When traveling to the Rebbe, there is no fear at all. I left everything outside on the main road there next to the airport, and no one touched it. True tzaddikim."
