(Duplicate) Command to Save the Friendship of Our Kin ◇ Bris of the Great-Grandson of the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

עורך ראשי

The celebration of the Bris Milah (circumcision ceremony) for the great-grandson of our teacher, the Rav Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days), son of R' Nachman, son of the Rabbi R' Moshe Galinsky shlit"a, son-in-law of his eldest grandson, the honorable Rabbi R' Nachman Zucker shlit"a.

The Bris ceremony took place on Sunday, the 18th of Mar-Cheshvan, during the week of the Torah portion "To your offspring I will give this land," in the holy residence of the Saba Kadisha (holy grandfather), our teacher the Rav shlit"a. The ceremony began around 09:50 AM with the entrance of our teacher the Rav shlit"a into his holy residence and the reading of the Bris verses by the father of the child. Afterward, family members were honored with holding the baby. The influential elder, the Chassid R' Yehoshua Ber Rubinstein shlit"a, was honored with the Chair of Elijah. Our teacher the Rav shlit"a was honored with being the Sandak (godfather) and with the blessings, and the child's name in Israel was called Natan, son of R' Nachman. "May this little one become great, and just as he entered the covenant, so may he enter into the Torah, the marriage canopy, and good deeds." After the Bris ceremony, the Rav shlit"a sat for the Seudat Bris (festive meal) and during it delivered his holy discourse.

Before you is a summary of some of the words delivered by the Rav shlit"a during the event: "What are you doing here, Elijah?" He wanted the mouth of Moshe Rabbeinu. Therefore, Hashem (God) told him to go to every Bris. In the future to come, Yom Kippur will be like Purim, and people will eat and drink. "And the needy for a pair of shoes." The Tzaddik is the shoes for the Shechinah (Divine Presence). "A person should always sell the beams of his house to buy shoes for his feet." For over 400 years, they forgot how to perform a Bris according to the law; they did it without priah (the stage of circumcision involving uncovering the glans). Every Bris that is performed conquers more of the Land, because the gentiles are the arlah (foreskin/spiritual blockage). "I saw the tears of the oppressed, and they have no comforter"—it is impossible to comfort those whose babies were murdered; for this, there is no comfort!
