Emotional: Comforting Mourners at the Avraham and Solomonovitch Family Home in Mevaseret - The Righteous Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Our teacher, the esteemed Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, arrives to comfort mourners during the shiva at the Avraham family home in Mevaseret Zion, where a member of our community, Nachman Solomonovitch and his brother shlit"a, were sitting shiva for their late mother z"l.

May her soul be bound in the bond of life

The visit was emotional, our teacher Rav Berland entered the family home and with warm words comforted the hearts of the family members.

"She lived here for 60 years? And always kept Shabbat, always observed Shabbat, sometimes like this, sometimes like that?"

"She was very ill, for 35 years she had Parkinson's," the family responds.

Our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a: "Oh my, oh my."

The family: "She had heart attacks, her entire back was cut."

"It's a shame she didn't come to live with us, I would have healed her. If she had come to live in the wall, we would have healed her."

The family: "But, she loved you very much, Rabbi. Every time they spoke against you in the media, she would get upset."

Our teacher Rav Berland: "Wow, wow, they talk to this day, they don't stop. Not for a second, they don't stop for a second, you were in investigations. You were."

One of the comforters: "No, I wasn't."

Our teacher Rav: "Every shekel someone gave me, why didn't you pay taxes on 10 shekels. With Hashem's help, the main thing is that she is in the hall of our Rebbe. She contributed a lot to the yeshiva, now she is in the hall of our Rebbe."

"Like Deborah the prophetess, like Miriam the prophetess, there are halls. It is written in the Zohar that there are halls for women. Every woman who passes away is either with Yocheved or Miriam, now we learned about Yocheved."

"Now we learned about Yocheved in Parshat Vayera, Yocheved who was born between the walls, she completed the seventy souls. She was born just as they entered the wall, like the Jaffa Gate, then it was the gate of Cairo, the gate of Alexandria, there Yocheved was born, inside the gate."

"She merited to live 250 years, it is written in the Rambam that she lived 250 years. Moshe lived 120 years, his eye did not dim, nor did his vigor abate, one must live in a place of tzaddikim, then his eye did not dim nor did his vigor abate."

"But, she now lives with the tzaddikim, now she is in the halls of tzaddikim, and she was the most righteous in the world."

The family: "She is buried on the Mount of Olives."

Our teacher Rav Berland: "Whoever is on the Mount of Olives goes straight to Gan Eden."

Nachman Solomonovitch: "Rabbi, this is my brother."

The Rabbi: "This is your brother? This was your mother? Yes, you are two brothers."

Our teacher Rav Berland in response to a family member who asked for a blessing for a suitable match: "Today you will get married, so what's the problem, you need to get married today, even at the age of 100, it doesn't matter. At the age of 100, one must not be without a wife even for a millisecond. As soon as he is born, he should be married off."

"Here in Parshat Vayigash, about Hezron the son of Reuben, they got married at the age of one. Hezron and Hamul were the most righteous, they got married at the age of one and passed away at the age of 120, they were married for 119 years."

"At the age of one they marry them off, by the age of 13 they already have a home."

Our teacher Rav Berland responds to a family member who said that if you chase after something it only gets further away: "Yes, you must not chase, if you chase after something then it runs away. Every woman is good, there is no bad woman, the man makes the woman bad. What does the woman want already, to eat an omelet in the morning and drink a cup of coffee and a slice with a little butter. That's all, that's all the woman wants."

"A Holocaust survivor told, all the Holocaust I dreamed that the war would end and I would eat a slice with butter and a cup of coffee. This was a woman who went through the entire Holocaust, I read in some book. There was no food in the Holocaust, they only got thin soup, such mud, mud. The Holocaust ended, now every morning a slice with butter and a cup of coffee."

"We could already be a power, if everyone had 10 children, we would multiply by 5, every couple brings 10. Today we are 12 million, we were 18, now we are 12, so we would reach 60 million within a year. If every couple brings a child every year, then in 20 years we are 60 million."

"When you see a non-Jew saving a Jew, they say he is of Jewish seed, in Poland a hundred thousand Poles saved Jews. Now the Poles have boycotted Holocaust Day because they themselves were the Nazis."

"Every year they destroy us, assimilation is three hundred thousand a year, in three years a million. We were 18 million after the Holocaust we were 12, we went up to 18 and returned again to 12 million."

"In America everyone assimilates, he goes to university and marries a non-Jewish woman and she with a non-Jewish man. Whoever goes to university it's poison, not just the content, but the mixtures and the life of abandon."

"She was the most righteous woman, she kept Shabbat. And she has, Baruch Hashem, grandchildren and descendants - now she is in the hall of our Rebbe."

May it be Hashem's will that this article and the words of our teacher, the esteemed Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, be for the elevation of the soul of Dalia bat Sultana z"l
