"Even the Gentiles are Against These Things!" • The Daily Lesson from the Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Before you are sparks from the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a – yesterday after the Maariv (evening) prayer, Wednesday night, the 26th of Tammuz, Parshas Matot-Masei:

"The Parsha (Torah portion) begins with the section of Nedarim (vows) between a father and his daughter, between a man and his wife. The first thing is that the daughter makes a vow, like the daughter of Jephthah who vowed that she would do what her father said and would not change a word. He said, 'I want to regret it; I didn't mean you, I meant a goat or a sheep.' She said, 'Whatever came out of your mouth, do what you said!' Today, the 'poison' is to break the smartphone, the Xiaomi, to smash it into tiny pieces. Anyone who holds a smartphone or a Xiaomi has no portion in the World to Come; he will inherit Gehennom (purgatory) for billions of years. The moment he leaves the house, he falls asleep [spiritually], the child plays with the numbers and encounters things that were not seen in the generation of the Flood, nor in the generation of Enosh—in no generation, not even among the worst of the Gentiles. Even the Gentiles are against these things, and one must smash it immediately, not hold onto it for even a single second!""‏.
