Everyone Knows How Much Rav Berland Has Done for Them and We Must Show Gratitude
Words of Rabbi Shmuel Stern shlit"a

The Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Stern shlit"a, head of the 'Nachalei Netzach' institutions, in a painful appeal from the depths of his heart to the general public to open their hearts for our teacher, the holy Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a.
"There is no need to elaborate; everyone understands well the injustices being committed against Rav Berland shlit"a."
These are his full words:
"First of all, we have the merit to help with all the expenses of our teacher Rav Berland; this is a merit of one thousand shekels, which everyone simply has the privilege to fulfill."
"It has been so long without the Rav, and we miss the Rav so much, each and every one of us, and at the very least, it is something we can truly do to somehow show our appreciation and gratitude to the Rav for everything he has done for us all these years, as everyone knows how much Rav Berland has done for them."

"And right now, truly, after the Rav has been sitting in prison for so long, it is unbelievable that this is what is happening to the Rav; it is something that the mind cannot grasp, because if it were any other person of this age, they would have been out long ago. We simply see... everyone knows exactly what is going on here; I don't need to elaborate. Everyone understands the enormous and terrible injustices taking place here; there is simply nothing to talk about. These are well-known matters that even the most distant people can see."
"We must join hands, because the power of the public is something entirely different. We are all, thank Hashem, truly united by the tzaddik, and we all want the good of the tzaddik."
"The Rav has been in prison for a long time; these are things that have not happened since the beginning of time, and now he has been under house arrest for four and a half months in an undisclosed location. Before that, the Rav was in detention for four and a half months, and they brought him back to trial again, and they reached a plea deal... because otherwise, who knows how much longer they would have continued to persecute the Rav."
"Therefore, thank Hashem that we received this deal after everyone sat here for a long time deliberating, and we saw that it was the best thing that could be achieved, because there is endless evil here. Unfortunately, the situation is as follows: they rented an apartment for the Rav, and security costs over one hundred thousand shekels per month, which the court demanded, plus unpaid legal fees."
"There are the Rav's medical expenses; of course, they are getting the best doctors for him, because that is what truly needs to be done. There is no question, doubt, or dispute about this. One must know that every such thing costs so much money without end; the expenses are terrible... of course, there is no public reception and no donations. Everything falls on the activists whom I know personally, and I say that the public should know that there are loyal activists here."
"I wish every rabbi had such loyal activists who sacrifice themselves day and night tirelessly. Since the Rav was taken in, there is no day or night; I am close to them and see that they are simply sacrificing themselves. They take out loans just so the Rav will be well; it is impossible to understand their self-sacrifice. I envy their portion in the World to Come... such self-sacrifice does not exist."
"Twenty-four hours a day, the activists have left everything behind, even home, even children; they are only occupied with the Rav... currently, since there are truly no donations, and according to the court, it is forbidden to fundraise for the fine the Rav received, which is 2.5 million shekels, we are not fundraising for that, and the activists are taking out loans for it, because that is what is possible right now."
"And besides that, they have other previous debts; it is impossible to digest and understand the amounts of debt they are in following this entire situation. Therefore, we appeal to the public from the depths of our hearts; no one is doing this for themselves, we are all doing this only for our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a."
"Our teacher and master Rav Berland shlit"a is a tzaddik, the foundation of the world. With the help of Hashem, we ask everyone to help with the ongoing expenses, which are over two hundred thousand shekels every month. It is impossible to keep up with this; it accumulates, every month another two hundred thousand... it reaches millions."
"The Committee of Rabbis begs and appeals for hearts to open, and that at the very least, every family should give 1,000 NIS, because our lives are at stake. If, Heaven forbid, for example, there is no security, everything goes back to court. Who wants that? Who has the strength for that? We only want the Rav to be well."
"Our teacher and master Rav Berland, may he live long and good years, we all know who our Rav is; therefore, we truly ask that everyone open their heart and pocket and transfer a donation to those activists who are very strong, but already so weak. They have been dealing with this for so long; this in itself is a matter of life and death for them. How much can they take? I see them, how much can they take?"
"They do not involve the Rav in the pain they have, in all the suffering they are going through. They do not cause the Rav even a moment of sorrow; everything, so to speak, flows smoothly around the Rav."
"We ask everyone to open their pockets and hearts and give a donation of at least one thousand shekels, because a pidyon (redemption) is forbidden... but at least help with all the expenses."
"And with the help of Hashem, everyone who contributes will merit completeness and joy from their children in the merit of helping the tzaddik."
"Through this, we will merit the complete Geulah (Redemption) speedily in our days, amen."
