Exclusive: Words of the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a for Parshat Bo and the Month of Shevat - "When a Person is Humiliated, He Can Enter Gan Eden with the Body"
"What is the 1st of Shevat? What is the month of Shevat? The Chiddushei HaRim explains that in Shevat, Moshe began to explain the Torah, exactly 36 days corresponding to the 36 candles of Chanukah. I saw another explanation on this—one would need to study for a billion years (to cover all the explanations)—from the 1st [of Shevat] until the 6th of Adar, Moshe explained the Torah, because on the 7th of Adar, Moshe had already written 13 Torah scrolls. In one day, he managed to write 13 scrolls; the sun stood still for 60 hours. 12 times 5, it comes out that approximately every five hours Moshe Rabbeinu wrote one Torah scroll. Therefore, on the 1st of Shevat, all the revelations and all the new insights begin."

"The Nation of Israel does not need a king, because Pharaoh called them 'locusts' (arbeh). The Parshah (Bo) begins with a difficulty, because Hashem tells Moshe to come to Pharaoh, but He does not tell him which plague it will be."

"If a person is disgraced, he can merit all salvations, just like Binyamin, whom the brothers called 'thief, son of a thieving woman.' Eliezer (Avraham's servant)—they called him a donkey because he was the son of Nimrod, so he danced, and therefore he entered Gan Eden (Garden of Eden) with his body. When a person is humiliated, he can enter Gan Eden with his body, because in reality, they are humiliating the donkey within him, not the human being. For every person is [comprised of] a soul and a donkey, a soul and a snake; if they call him a donkey, he should dance."
"If they want to excommunicate a person, he should dance. They also wanted to excommunicate the holy Arizal. The Maharsha wanted to excommunicate the Arizal, only that the Arizal sent him challahs. The Radbaz wanted to excommunicate him; everyone wanted to excommunicate the holy Arizal. They argued against him, 'What things are you revealing? Adam Kadmon (Primordial Man)? Why are you corporealizing Godliness? Why are you speaking about Adam Kadmon, Atika, Arich?'"

"In Parshat Bo, we already ascend to Adam Kadmon; this corresponds to the last three plagues, which correspond to Keter, Chochmah, and Binah. Keter corresponds to [the plague of the] Firstborn, Chochmah to Darkness, and Binah to Locusts. [There are] ten types of melody, for through melody a person can attain everything. This was the mistake of all the generations who spoke words of rebuke. Rebbe Nachman says that one is never allowed to speak words of rebuke—sing! A person can only return in teshuvah (repentance) through a word of humor."

"The melody penetrates the soul; it penetrates all the screens, and this is how people will return in teshuvah. Every soul can be brought back in teshuvah, one just needs to penetrate the screens. David shot a stone and penetrated the armor; one needs to know how to penetrate the armor."
