Part One of the lesson by the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, Wednesday of the Ten Days of Repentance

Everyone will study Torah; everyone is studying now until 6:30 without interruption. Whoever was awake at night should go to sleep, and then do an hour of Hisbodedus (personal prayer). Everyone must do an hour of Hisbodedus now, an hour of Hisbodedus so that Eliyahu ben Shulamit can support all of Shuvu Banim and build buildings of a thousand stories here. He has the power... and everyone will receive an apartment either for free or with a mortgage of a thousand shekels a month for forty years. And you, Natan—what is your name? Ah, Daniel—you will help him. You will be a partner with him on every apartment; you will earn a thousand shekels—five hundred for you, five hundred for him. You will build a thousand apartments a day; that is five hundred thousand shekels... a thousand apartments a day. Everything is possible; we are walking with Rebbe Nachman. Rebbe Nachman is above nature, higher and higher than the intellect. A thousand apartments a day—on all of this you earn... shekels, that is enough, that is a lot. Five shekels a day—wow, I wish I would earn that. Everyone is sitting and learning without taking their heads out of the letters until 6:30. Today is the 7th of Tishrei, the Sefirah of Tiferes (Beauty/Harmony). It is written that Tiferes includes all the Sefiros. Whoever rectifies the Sefirah of Tiferes, all his sins are rectified—all the [blemishes in] Chesed, Gevurah... everything he did in all his incarnations. Today is the day we judge... all the blemishes of the Brit (covenant), on the condition that one does not do them anymore. One does not go to Mecca and commit more sins. They go to Mecca and throw stones at three pillars: one in memory of Hagar, one in memory of Fatima—Abraham, Ishmael, and Hagar—three pillars, and they throw stones according to the number of sins. They throw stones... a stone hit someone, and immediately he threw it back... it became like an atomic explosion and 800 Arabs were killed, poor things, 'Arabushim.' I said they would bring them on Saturday night, but there was no truck. I asked Heller, Nachman Heller—he has a truck—but he didn't receive a visa from Saudi Arabia. So next time... 'Arabushim,' we will make schnitzel out of them, Amen, Amen, everyone say Amen. So now, now is the day that rectifies all sins because it is the Sefirah of Tiferes. It starts with Aleph—1st of Tishrei is Keter; 2nd of Tishrei is Binah/Chochmah; 3rd is Binah... 4th is Da'at; 5th, which was Monday, was Chesed; 6th was Gevurah—the days of Gevurot (Severities). Today is already Tiferes. Tomorrow is Netzach, and Friday is Hod, Yesod, Malchut. So whoever... every thought of teshuvah (repentance) is like a million years of teshuvah. Every thought of teshuvah—what is every blemish? There is no blemish that is not forgiven today, every thought of teshuvah, on the condition that the person is not like the Christians who go to the priest, put down ten dollars, and afterwards commit a few more sins, put down 20 dollars, a few more sins, 30 dollars. Here, whoever commits sins cannot come to Shuvu Banim. Here the Rav announces: everyone will sign here before they leave that they will no longer commit sins. There will be a stamp here, and for every... a fine of a thousand dollars. Ten sins is ten thousand; a hundred sins is a hundred thousand; a million sins is a billion dollars. From today, for every sin, for every improper thought... of a thousand dollars. Today is... Tiferes. Whoever is born today can forgive the sins of the entire generation. Anyone born in Tiferes has the power to forgive the sins of the entire generation. Therefore, one must ensure not to disagree with the Rebbetzin and not to speak about the Rebbetzin. There is no disagreement between the Rav and the Rebbetzin. The Rav has known the Rebbetzin for sixty-three years, since the age of seventeen—sixty-three years. The Rebbetzin is... from the age of seven. Now they told the Rebbetzin to go to a doctor to get a permit so she could eat a little—she is literally in a critical condition—so she went to the doctor. The doctor said, 'I am not giving a permit.' A true story... the doctor—the doctors are crazy, mentally ill, they need to be hospitalized. The doctor said... 'You want a permit? Go to the Rav.' So the Rebbetzin said, 'I am not going to any Rav. It is better that they shoot me, and I will fast. If I don't fast, I will set study sessions... a Jewish woman... a Jew and that's it, I am not a gentile...' They have no strength... so they fast for 30 days. And worse than an Arab—you were told to fast by Torah law once, and by Rabbinic law on Tisha B'Av; the rest is permitted to be lenient. So you cannot do what an Arab does? The Christians fast. I had a fellow named Florian, Florian from Germany, who hasn't eaten animal products for two months. They have a different custom every month: not to eat eggs, not to eat chicken, not to eat anything from a living creature. Florian—I need to travel to him in Germany... recovery... from everyone... let them hide me from Interpol. But Baruch Hashem, Interpol brought me to Israel; they are staying in Johannesburg for another 200 years. So we were... something. So one simply needs to know not to disagree with the Rebbetzin. Today is the 7th of Tishrei. Today there will be—yesterday there was a party for the whole community; whoever didn't come, didn't come. Yesterday there was a party for the whole community. On Monday, Tuesday... Monday there was a party only for those close to the Rebbetzin, only those who hold her in high regard. And afterwards, everyone was offended, so they announced for everyone to come, but women didn't come. It was 'Let all who are hungry come and eat, let all who are in need come and partake of the Pesach offering.' So Odel is publishing 'Hashem is God, there is none else beside Him.' She published in the Pesach booklet two years ago... before Pesach there was... a miser among misers, something unique in his generation, unique in all generations, something—a miser of a miser, the root of all stinginess in the world. In short, the Rav invites him before Pesach, and he already understands why the Rav is inviting him—he wants a million shekels, a billion shekels. Good, he comes. The Rav invites him, he must come. He is shaking all over like a fish, shaking, shaking, shaking, shaking. He sits and he is shaking all over, he is shaking, he is shaking, he is shaking. He's been there half an hour; the Rav lets him shake. After half an hour he says to him, 'Now let's start talking about why I called you.' And he knows why he called... he is about to faint. He is simply on the verge of death. And they needed... Penicillin was only invented in 1929 (5689); until then everyone died of fever, literally. This was in 1911 (5671), the story with Reb Zalman, the grandfather of Reb Yitzchak David—everyone died of malaria. So they told him, 'You are traveling to the Rebbe of Stolin, to the Yenuka, to Reb Yisrael.' He is buried in Frankfurt... on the grave that people travel to in Frankfurt. 'So you are traveling to him, so speak to him to send some money.' He is a billionaire. 'Tell him to influence some wealthy man.' He says, 'What? He is a beggar more than I am. What, how will he...?' There are no male doctors, no female doctors, no nurses, nothing—everyone is dying one after another. The... at his brother's place, everyone in Mishmar HaYarden—the Haredim established everything. The Haredim established Mishmar HaYarden, Rosh Pina, Metula. All of Metula... the most magnificent, 200 years ago, the Haredim established everything. And slowly... they cut off their peyot (sidelocks), every day a centimeter. 'If not, you won't get work'... a tiny bit, a tiny bit. So... for work. Every day they said, 'Just another tiny bit, another tiny bit, another tiny bit,' until nothing was left from all the 'tiny bits.' They always want drops; what will be left for the Rav? They took all the drops. So he went to Mishmar HaYarden to visit his brother. He said, 'My daughter passed away, and so am I, but everyone here is dying one after another...' without a head, he was without a head... or antibiotics, and there wasn't any. So his wife sold all the jewelry; he didn't have money to board the ship. He had a righteous wife; in the merit of her selling all the jewelry... Baron Rothschild. If the wife sells all the jewelry, then immediately one meets Baron Rothschild. Even today one can meet him; there are many Barons, endless Barons. So he boards, and he sings Zemiros (Shabbat songs) the entire Shabbat. He only sings Zemiros. On Motzaei Shabbat (Saturday night), Baron Rothschild approaches him and says, 'For the first time in my life, I felt the taste of Shabbat.' And he sees that an undercover agent is following him—it's from Interpol, someone undercover followed him all Shabbat. He understood they wanted to extradite him, and so he already grasped the situation. In short, this undercover agent approaches him after Motzaei Shabbat—he had already finished Melaveh Malkah. He said to him, 'I am Baron Rothschild, know this.' So he... already understood that... Interpol, he already grasped everything. So he says to him, 'Now make a request. For the first time in my life, I felt the taste of Shabbat. I was following you and I saw the Zemiros.' He... more Zemiros and more Zemiros, and singing and more Zemiros. And he... he says Shabbat... doesn't sleep. The guards here don't sleep. A guard is forbidden to sleep. If you keep Shabbat, you must sing all the time. Take your wife and sing, take the grandchildren and sing—only sing, don't stop until morning. We sang until morning, and then exactly Nachman Isaac arrived, and Shmuel Isaac Zucker arrived, and David Rubinstein arrived, and every moment someone else arrived. So we sang another hour, another hour, another hour, until it became morning, four-thirty. So the whole point is to continue Shabbat until the morning. He says, 'For the first time in my life, I felt the taste of Shabbat.' The rich don't feel the taste of Shabbat—another kugel, another schnitzel, another burekas, another blintz. What is this? From this he will feel the taste of Shabbat? From this he got stomach aches... 1949. So all the rich people would stand in line—before this, they certainly stood in line. And then what happened? He says, 'Now make a request, one request. No... you want a livelihood (parnassah)? You want shoes for your hands? You want a sweater for the children? One request.' Good, he went down, went down and thought. He said, 'What about me?' What did he think about himself? 'A person is close to himself' (cares for his own needs)... this is the Sitra Achra (Other Side), that he first thinks only of himself. People are dying of malaria, dying like flies. I... tell him to send a whole ship immediately with doctors, medicines. Penicillin didn't exist yet; it was only in 1929. But what happened then was people died like flies. In America they died... everyone in Panama, everyone died from malaria after they dug the Suez Canal. So there was such a Kiddush Hashem (Sanctification of God's Name)—who dug? Jews dug the canal. Who has money? Only Jews... within 10 years they finished. Now they moved to dig in Panama, but there were two big swindlers there. One was... two big swindlers, and they stole all the money, billions. And all the Panamanians died of malaria, so they had no excuse. And 800,000 people lost all their money... 800 members of parliament who were in on the deal—it's a deal that couldn't be done without the parliament. And then the strong antisemitism began, the whole Holocaust and all the antisemitism—it started when they stole all the money of Panama. And they had to dig everything anew. So instead of finishing it in 1893, they finished it in 1903, another ten years. And then they stole all the funds. But this was Baron Rothschild—speaking in 70 languages, speaking... and in the end, he died in a safe. A safe the size of a room, there he... everyone passes away in safes. People pass away, he entered the safe and there he wrote with blood, 'I, Benjamin Rothschild, said I would not die of hunger...' He would give a hundred dollars to some Breslover, to some... everything would pass peacefully. All the... they give to Breslov. They don't give even a single penny, even a trillionth of a penny they don't give. If they gave one penny, then everything would pass peacefully; they wouldn't die strange deaths... and this is how it is. And this was exactly on Purim... at night, and no Breslover received a penny. So he didn't go to the Tzaddik HaEmet (True Tzaddik). He went... so he didn't go to the Tzaddik HaEmet, so may Hashem have mercy. So whatever a person does is all pride. So now he told him, 'The malaria.' So everything... immediately they sent a ship with doctors and everything. And in America everyone died, in America, in Texas, in Carolina, Virginia, everyone died of fever. Everything was swamps, swamps. Wherever the land is flat, it is all swamps, and everyone died there. Millions of people died in the USA... until they invented Penicillin. And after that, then everything... keeps Shabbat. Now is Yom Kippur, so we ask everyone—now it is ten to nine, so until ten to five exactly 9 hours remain—that they should learn from page 34 how everyone flew in the air. Everyone flew in the air. You already learned from page 34? So today learn how they flew in the air, and after that the water rose 300 miles, at the height of a spaceship—even then there was a spaceship. Let's say Kaddish again, Yitgadal V'yitkadash.

Part Two of the lesson by the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, Wednesday of the Ten Days of Repentance

...They wanted to use the... they didn't want to take any fruit at all, so he sent [them] with the sword. Good... good, we will show them, we will tell them: just as the fruits are strange, so too the people are strange. The fruits do not show that it is impossible to conquer the land. In truth, he comes from Adam Kadmon (Primordial Man), he is... 'And from the top of the ancient mountains, and from the choice fruits (meged)...' Rashi says: What is 'meged'? It is all the sweetness in the world. Because whoever reaches Adam Kadmon influences all the sweetness. So Joseph the Tzaddik, 'And for the crown of the nazir of his brothers'—he reached the crown (kodkod), he reached Adam Kadmon, so he influences all the sweetness in the world. So therefore Rashi says 'from meged'—what is 'from meged'? What are 'megadim'? Megadim are delicacies, confectioneries, all the tastiest things. Like Yoav who was... the tastiest things. He ensured that every Jew would have the tastiest things. He never touched a penny in his life; everything he conquered, everything he took, he later distributed. So it turns out that all the Jewish people had popsicles, ice creams, everything, all the delicacies in the world. So Joseph influences all the delicacies. Whoever follows the Tzaddik has all the delicacies in the world; he lacks nothing. So the moment a person follows the Tzaddik, he finds his shidduch (match) immediately, he straight away has a male child, his wife is blessed with children (nifkedet). The moment a person follows the Tzaddik, everything is at the speed of light, such speed, every thing and every detail. And he is healed from all illnesses; he heals all illnesses. The whole point is to follow the Tzaddik... the Tzaddik, then everything was... Reuven was 23 years old, how... suddenly he walks barefoot. They walk barefoot and nothing pricks them, and they have abundance, and the flock multiplies, and hundreds of thousands of calves, hundreds of sheep. In the end, they sell their brother for shoes. Is there no sheep? Is there no calf? Is there no goat, lamb, kid? Why for shoes did they have to sell specifically the brother? Rather, the whole point is to be the 'shoes' of Adam Kadmon. All our work is to be included in Adam Kadmon, every single second to be included in Adam Kadmon. Wherever a person walks, wherever a person moves, let him be included in Adam Kadmon. Through the Gemara, he is included in Adam Kadmon. Without the Gemara it is impossible. This is... we are not... (Perakim/monks?). We are not... Rabbi Avraham the son of the Rambam says, 'Learn from the... (Perakim?), from the dervishes who walk on the mountains and do Hisbodedus.' But they don't see anything; they don't reach Adam Kadmon. They remain where they are. What is Job? 'He never was and never was created.' He remained where he was. 'Never was created'—he didn't create anything. He wasn't... he had no reality. And he, a person passes 120 years, he has no reality. He lives 210 [years] without reality. 'Never was and never was created'—he was not in the World of Yetzirah (Formation) and was not created in the World of Beriah (Creation). Because Adam comes... Adam needs to enter the World of Yetzirah, needs to enter the World of Beriah. For it is written, 'And He formed (Vayitzer) the man,' 'Let us make man,' 'By the word of Hashem the heavens were made.' What is 'By the word of Hashem'? 'The word of Hashem' is the World of Atzilut (Emanation). One needs to descend from Atzilut to Asiyah (Action). Hashem wants us to descend from Atzilut to Asiyah, which is only through the study of Gemara. Without studying Gemara, a person cannot rectify the World of Asiyah. So a person is in the World of Asiyah with a body, with hands, with legs. He needs to sanctify the hands, sanctify the legs, so that he won't have evil thoughts, so that he won't have evil desires, so that he won't have desires for food. The desire for food is the worst in the world. Whoever has a desire for food will never leave Gehennom (Hell). There is no rectification for the desire for food... because... it is the first thing... that it is tasty, so tasty that it has all the tastes in the world. And therefore she cannot leave Gehennom; as much as she lives, she cannot leave Gehennom... desire for food. He doesn't... all illnesses are only from the desire for food. Today there is an abundance of food. A person eats... We were in the Yeshiva, we ate... we had a drop of salad and bread with jam, and that was it. Bread and jam we ate in the Yeshiva. Today everyone eats so much until the belly explodes, and he becomes sick with all kinds of diseases. He doesn't understand why he has stomach aches. He eats, and he eats, and he eats, and he eats. He arrives home at 9, eats until 12 at night, only eats and eats and eats and eats. They need to create another stomach. It is written, 'The belly of the wicked shall lack.' Reb Eliyahu Lopian said this. What is 'The belly of the wicked shall lack'? The wicked person is missing another stomach. He says, 'It's a pity I don't have another stomach. I already ate for three hours; I want to eat for another 3 hours.' A person is only in the desire for food 24 hours a day. And he eats, and his wife makes him more food and more food. He doesn't know that she is murdering him, choking him, and all the illnesses in the world will come to him. A person doesn't grasp that he is getting sicker from day to day, more and more. So 'the belly of the wicked...' (shall become sick?). So now we are in Tiferes... (of Tiferes?). Tiferes includes everything. Tiferes is the body, hands, legs, everything. So... there is nothing that is not rectified today... all the incarnations from the sin of the Tree of Knowledge, how we were thugs (biryonim) in all the incarnations. Because the whole Holocaust is because we didn't atone for the thugs who destroyed the Temple... forbidden to fight. Today we are like King Hezekiah, we are like the Hasmoneans. You are not like the Hasmoneans, you are not like Hezekiah—you are all [full of] blemishes of the Brit. There was no holiness, nothing. There was also no Rebbe Nachman to speak about holiness. They were blemished with all the blemishes in the world... going to fight. In that First Temple era, they thought they could fight because there was Hezekiah. Josiah went to fight with Pharaoh Necho, so 300 iron lances, arrows... 300. And after that he had to come back as Yehuda ben Bava in a reincarnation. One reincarnation wasn't enough. Again 300 arrows. A person needs to know that one reincarnation is not enough; he needs to come again and again and again, and every time anew 300 arrows. But if he is close to Rebbe Nachman and he reaches the Sefirah of Tiferes, then there is no person whom he does not rectify. And the moment he sits and learns now from 6 to 6, from 9 to 6—that is 9 hours—he atones for everything. Because in 12 and a half hours we say 600,000 letters (60 ribo). Because in 10 hours it is 480,000. Every hour is 48,000. Every minute is 200 words times 4 letters is 800, times 60 is 48,000. We have 480,000. There remains another 2 and a half [hours]. From 480 until 600,000 is 120,000. That is two and a half hours. Every hour is 48; two hours is 96, plus 24 is 120. So if we learn now... the prayer we started at 5, now we will finish at 8, at 9 tonight. So we have from 5 to 5 is 12, plus 12 hours. So it is possible to rectify more than 600,000, even the gentiles. And there are more than 600,000 Jews. 600,000 is in 12 [hours]. So it is possible to rectify even more. Another four hours is another third, so another two hundred thousand. It is possible to rectify another 800,000 Jews, it is possible to rectify. So a person needs to know, if you sit and learn now, you rectify 800,000 Jews. Once I told someone... a baal teshuvah (returnee to faith)... wants another 10,000 to return in teshuvah. A person says letters, so another 600,000 return. Another is 12 and a half. If it is 16 and a half, then it is exactly 800,000. Another third, another 200,000. So a person can bring the entire Jewish people back in teshuvah in the merit of sitting and learning, not taking his head out of the book. And it appears that this day is the Sefirah of Tiferes; everything will be atoned, and all sins will be forgiven, and the Jewish people will return in teshuvah.

Yitgadal V'yitkadash.
