Great Miracles are Going to Happen - The Daily Strengthening from the Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

In the Daily Strengthening, our teacher, the holy Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days), touches upon two points regarding the Geulah (Redemption) "that is happening now" - the holy Merkavah (Chariot) that accompanies a Jew from the moment of his birth, as well as the great miracles beginning now during the time of the future Redemption.

The Daily Strengthening, Thursday, 11th of Elul 5785, these are his holy words shlit"a:

The Holy Merkavah Accompanies a Person from the Moment of Birth

Everyone needs to see the Ma'aseh Merkavah (Workings of the Chariot), everyone needs to see ¹"On my right is Michael, on my left is Gabriel, before me is Uriel, behind me is Raphael, and above my head is the Shechinah (Divine Presence) of G-d" (from the Bedtime Shema prayer).

On my right is Michael; everyone needs to know that angels walk with him from the day he is born. According to Rabbi Shimon, two angels walk with him; according to the Tanna Kamma (the first anonymous teacher of the Mishnah), five angels. After all, a baby falls every moment (and yet he is preserved), rather there are angels who guard him from the moment he is born.

The Future Redemption is Much Greater than the Redemption from Egypt

It is written, "They shall no longer say, 'As Hashem lives, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,' but rather... 'from the northern land and from all the lands'" (Jeremiah 23:7-8) - such miracles will yet occur in the future Geulah (Redemption). Such miracles are going to happen now; it is already the period of the Geulah now; now is the time of "And every man shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree" (Micah 4:4). "They shall no longer say, 'As Hashem lives, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,' but rather... 'from the northern land and from all the lands'"; now is the revelation of miracles. It is written that whoever lives during the era of Mashiach (the Messiah) must merit to live to see the miracles and wonders of the final moment. Just as when I was a 10-year-old boy, not a single Arab remained here. ²Harry Truman (the US President at the time) said absolutely not; Truman informed Ben-Gurion, "If you declare a state, it won't last five minutes." Just like what they did now, within 5 minutes they wiped out 21 kibbutzim. It took five minutes—they burned the houses, they burned everything.

  1. The phrasing "On my right is Michael, on my left is Gabriel, before me is Uriel, behind me is Raphael" appears already in the Siddur (prayer book) of Rav Amram Gaon (9th century) within the Bedtime Shema, and was later brought in the Siddur of Rashi and other Siddurim.
The four angels symbolize the four directions of the world and the four attributes of Hashem's leadership – Chesed (Kindness - Michael, right), Gevurah (Strength/Judgment - Gabriel, left), Light and Torah (Uriel, front), and Healing and Salvation (Raphael, back). 2. After the UN vote on November 29, 1947, in favor of the Partition Plan, the American administration deliberated whether to continue supporting it, mainly due to opposition from the State Department and fears of damaging relations with Arab countries. Secretary of State George Marshall and State Department officials pressured Truman heavily not to recognize a Jewish state. Truman himself leaned toward support, both out of humanitarian considerations after the Holocaust and because he had personal ties with Zionist leaders in the US (such as Edward Jacobson, a childhood friend who convinced him to meet with Chaim Weizmann).
