Ha’azinu: Rabbi Elyashiv zt"l Ruled—It Is Forbidden to Sit in Prison One Extra Moment. The Plea Deal of the Gaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Thirty years ago, Rabbi Pardes was the Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv. He sat in prison over deeds that never happened and were never created, and he was destined to remain there for many more years. Because of his standing as the Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv, they offered him a way to end the matter through a plea deal: he would leave prison after three months instead of three years.
Rabbi Pardes came and wept before Rabbi Elyashiv zt"l and said: ‘I am pure and clean. All the accusations against me are lies and a false plot—there was nothing.’ Then he asked Rabbi Elyashiv for Da’as Torah: ‘Should I admit to something I did not do and be released sooner, or fight until the end and prove my innocence?’ Rabbi Elyashiv ruled that he should admit to whatever they want. “With me, you remain pure and clean—I know you did nothing.” According to Da’as Torah, “a person does not make himself into a wicked one”; a person can admit to whatever he wants and still remain pure and clean. The Da’as Torah, according to the ruling of Rabbi Elyashiv shlit"a, is that a person must do everything in order to sit as little as possible—even if it requires admitting to something he did not do. We all know that everything happening with our holy master and teacher, the Gaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland, is all lies and a false plot; but there is nothing to do—here there is Da’as Torah, and we must follow it. We are not afraid of humiliations. They tell that someone said to Donald Trump that the United States has billions in debt, and he answered that he is happy about it—because he made all his wealth by taking debts and loans. Rabbosai, how did we lose our sanity? We are Breslov Chassidim—Chassidim of Rebbe Nachman, of The Rav—and we are afraid of humiliations? For us, humiliations are diamonds. Just as Trump loves debts, we love humiliations. The Rav admitted not because he is guilty, but because of that Da’as Torah of Rabbi Elyashiv zt"l, and also because of all the Gedolei HaDor who approached him and asked that he reach a plea deal. Humiliations? Dance, sing—they are gifts. We know where we were before we came to The Rav shlit"a, and where The Rav lifted us after we came to him. We know what suffering The Rav shlit"a is going through in these days—so now The Rav is throwing us a few diamonds, so that we too can enjoy, so that we too can merit. The first thing The Rav shlit"a will do after he gets out is to give a million dollars to those who pursued him—for they have given him the merit to ascend to lofty levels. The Rav told his daughter when she visited him in prison that he does not know what it means to hate a Jew. Those who cause us humiliations bring us merit and purify us.The interview is courtesy of the information line: 02-800-8800; from the USA: 18456400007; from England: 442038073333
