HaGaon Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach shlit"a: “You Shall Remove the Evil from Your Midst” — “HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a Is a Completely Righteous Tzaddik”

“On Wednesday, the 29th of Cheshvan 5777—30.11.2016 by their count—I merited to participate in the moving wedding that was held for the survivor of the terrifying accident from bus line 402, and to bring joy to the chassan and kallah,” recounts Rabbi Aharon Boimel. “The wedding was held at Binyanei HaUma with the participation of many important people, and from there we traveled to pray Ma’ariv in Zichron Moshe. It was already close to 1:30 at night. To our joy, we found there in Zichron Moshe HaGaon Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach shlit"a, Rosh Yeshivah of Ma’alos HaTorah and a member of the leadership of the Vaad HaYeshivos. I waited close to half an hour in order to speak with him.”

They are slandering the Tzaddik, Rabbi Berland. They are slandering him and his community; they don’t stop slandering. Look—here is a booklet they put out, full of lies and nonsense.”
“Rabbi Shmuel shlit"a answered me in Yiddish: ‘Nu… “You shall remove the evil from your midst”—first of all, you need to remove this!’ Rabbi Auerbach instructed me. I didn’t understand the Rav’s intention, so I asked the Gaavad who was with him to explain what he meant.”
“The Gaavad answered me: ‘Rabbi Auerbach shlit"a is telling you that you need to fulfill “You shall remove the evil from your midst,” so go ahead—tear up that booklet and fulfill the mitzvah!’ I stood there in front of him and tore it literally into shreds. Rabbi Shmuel enjoyed it so much and said to me: ‘Ah—“you shall remove the evil from your midst.”’
Then HaGaon Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach shlit"a said: ‘HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland is a completely righteous Tzaddik.’
“All the Rebbes and rabbis say that it is forbidden to touch this filth. There is not even one rabbi who stands behind it and permits him to distribute it and cause the public to stumble. They pay fifty shekels an hour to people who are willing to defile their souls and lose both worlds in exchange for distributing these pamphlets of triviality and falsehood. It is a pity that he is contaminating the public with these words of emptiness.”
