"He Was Healed and Began to Hear" - Rabbi Natan Mizrachi Shares the Medical Miracle of His Son Thanks to the Righteous Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

"We didn't understand that our son's healing was thanks to the righteous Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, and therefore we had to go through many challenges until he was finally healed. Hence, we came to publicize the medical miracle that occurred in our family," shared Natan Mizrachi, may he live, about the reasons that led him to share his wondrous story. "At the age of three, we realized that our son Nachman was not speaking as he should for his age, and from this, we concluded that he was not hearing well," Natan began his story.

"Moreover, Nachman constantly suffered from chronic nasal congestion, which caused ear infections from which he suffered, so we took him to a doctor who said he needed to undergo a tube surgery. This was at a time when our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a had just returned to the country. I wrote a note to the Rav, and he immediately sent me drops. The Rav told me to drip the drops into his ear every hour, and the infections would disappear. Indeed, we did as the Rav shlit"a instructed, and Nachman was healed, but unfortunately, we did not understand that a great miracle had occurred. We attributed the healing to various reasons and even asked the Rav's assistant for more drops without the Rav's knowledge, thinking that the medicinal and natural value of the drops was what healed Nachman. In fact, when we began to apply the additional drops we obtained without the Rav's knowledge, the infections returned immediately with greater intensity."

"At this stage, we turned to a naturopath who charged a lot for the diagnosis and medicinal treatment. We tried the treatment for several months, but it did not help. In another conversation with the doctor, he suggested we try other medications, but out of despair, I told my wife, 'I don't think so, let's just do the surgery that was initially suggested to us.' Throughout this time, we did not stop praying for his healing, and so, before we went to perform the surgery, I naturally went to ask the Rav about our next steps. It is important to mention that after the child was initially healed by the Rav's drops and we did not understand it was a miracle, we continued to send more notes to the Rav, but he did not respond. And now, when I came to ask about the surgery, the Rav responded immediately. I asked the Rav what to do, as we were currently giving the child medicinal treatment under the guidance of a certain doctor, but it was not helping. Should we continue with it or perform the surgery?"

Our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a simply gave us drops again, and I was very happy because now I already knew that salvation would come from here. As soon as I got home, we started the treatment the Rav gave, and to our amazement, by morning, there was no trace of the congestion. Initially, it thinned and became clear, and then it disappeared entirely. The child himself woke up happy in the morning, saying to my wife, 'Mom, I hear the kettle loudly,' his ears simply healed and opened up. By the time we finished the bottle of drops, the infection was completely healed.

"We were greatly strengthened in emunah (faith), there was an open miracle and a change of nature. I went to my son's rabbi in the Talmud Torah and told him how after all our efforts, only Rav Berland's drops helped. The rabbi was happy, after all the days he had to worry about cleaning Nachman's nasal congestion during school hours. We see the change of nature when coming to a tzaddik, and it greatly strengthens prayer."
