Hearing the Roars of the Rebbe • The Daily Lesson from the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Presented before you is a summary of the topics from the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a – yesterday after the Maariv (evening) prayer, Sunday night, the 18th of Tishrei 5786, the Hillula (anniversary of passing) of our Holy Rebbe 5786:
1. Now is the Hillula (anniversary of passing); our Rebbe is alive and enduring. We dance from now until 05:30. Afterward, everyone will go to the mikvah (ritual bath). 2. The mikvah (ritual bath) is done in two minutes. It is written in Chullin (Talmudic tractate): Who is called young? One who can get dressed while standing on one leg. 3. In Breslov, we stay awake all night. In the Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple), they did not sleep for seven days; they only dozed on a friend's shoulder. 4. During the Hillula (anniversary of passing) of our Rebbe, the Third Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple) descends; now we will see the Third Beis HaMikdash descending. 5. One must take vaccines for measles; another child has passed away now. Our Rebbe said that anyone who does not take vaccines is called a "shedder of blood" (murderer). 6. Moshe Rabbeinu (Moses our teacher) did not eat, drink, or relieve himself for forty days; all of this is necessary because of the sin of Adam HaRishon (the first man). 7. The Rebbetzin (the Rav's wife) would sit for twenty-four hours just studying Likutey Moharan, not eating or drinking. In this merit, the book 'Be'or Pnei Melech' was published. She realized that I wasn't studying the Sippurei Maasios (Rebbe Nachman's Stories); she forced me to study them, and in her merit, I drew close to Breslov. 8. Whoever comes to Shuvu Banim needs to live 930 years like Adam HaRishon (the first man). "The King who desires life"—the Arabs want us to reach Gan Eden (Paradise) quickly, but we want to stay here; in Gan Eden, one cannot perform mitzvos (commandments). 9. In the past, at the Tziyon (holy gravesite), they didn't sit, eat, or drink. Rabbi Mordechai Elazar Rubinstein said to someone who asked how he could stand in the freezing cold outside: "At the Tziyon, it is boiling with a flaming fire!" Outside it was minus thirty degrees with snow, but in the Kloiz (Breslov synagogue in Uman), they were sweating. 10. Rabbi Hirsh Leib jumped into the river and broke the ice; afterward, they went to pray, jumping on the tables with dancing, shouting, and weeping. The whole village was certain they were demons, but finally, the village elder arrived and said, "These are Jews." 11. Everyone in Breslov is an angel. Now is the Hillula (anniversary of passing); everyone becomes an angel, no need to eat or sleep. Next year is [5]216, which is the Gematria (numerical value) of "Aryeh" (Lion)—"The lion has roared, who will not fear?" One must hear the roars of our Rebbe.
