“Hold Back Your Voice from Weeping” – Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a at the Tomb of Rachel Imeinu

A Quiet Prayer and The Tikkun HaKlali at the Tomb of Rachel Imeinu ○ Erev Rosh Chodesh Av

The Rav, Rabbi Berland shlit"a, set out last night—on the night of the 29th of Tammuz—Erev Rosh Chodesh Tammuz, from his home, Neveh Kodesh, at 23:15, and arrived at “the road to Efrat, which is Beis Lechem”—the Tomb of Rachel Imeinu—at 23:40. Although at these hours the site is closed to the general public, The Rav shlit"a was brought in alone close to midnight, together with a small minyan of attendants and grandchildren, to Mama Rachel.

The Rav approached, kissed the holy monument, and began reciting four sections of The Tikkun HaKlali with melody and sweet chant. After The Tikkun HaKlali, Rabbi Berland shlit"a recited Kaddish with traditional tunes, and concluded with a quiet prayer on behalf of the people of Israel. Upon leaving, The Rav blessed several of the avreichim learning in the evening kollel there, and returned to his home, Neveh Kodesh, at 12:40.
