How I Love Your Torah—All Day Long It Is My Conversation • The Precious Children of Talmud Torah Emunas Tzion at a “Chumash Seudah” in the Home of Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

“Rejoice and be glad with this Torah, for it is our strength and our light.” With heartfelt joy, on Tuesday, the 15th of Tammuz—the yahrtzeit of the holy Ohr HaChaim—the precious children of first grade from Talmud Torah “Emunas Tzion,” under the leadership of the esteemed chassid R’ Shmuel Stern shlit"a, gathered and came to the home of The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, for a “Chumash Seudah.”
The holy flock entered with the crown of Torah upon their heads and sat around the pure table. A moment of excited silence filled the room, and then The Rav shlit"a entered, wrapped in a tallis. The children broke into heartfelt songs for several minutes. When the singing ended, the devoted teacher—R’ Nachman Rubinstein—called out “Tzon Kedoshim” (“holy flock”), and as is customary, they answered with their pure breath, “Mahhhh.” After that, the children merited to learn the first verses of Chumash Vayikra from The Rav shlit"a. To everyone’s delight, The Rav would read a verse and then repeat it with the “titch” (translation) in Yiddish. How moving it was to hear the pure breath of the little children of the House of Rabban blending with the clear and holy voice of The Rav shlit"a.
Afterwards, the precious children began singing “In Breslov brent a feier…” and other heartfelt melodies. After a few minutes, The Rav opened with words of the living God, mentioning the greatness of praying with niggunim, and the importance of rising early. The Rav also strengthened them regarding the merit of coming to the prayers at Shuvu Banim and to Seudah Shlishis together with him.
The pure children merited that The Rav shlit"a himself distributed the Chumashim to them with a shining countenance and great love. The Rav shlit"a also dedicated a special blessing for each child on the Chumash, in his own holy handwriting.
After the ceremony concluded, the educators sat together with The Rav shlit"a for half an hour of educational questions and answers. The Rav shlit"a responded to the educators’ questions, guided them, and offered counsel—so as to illuminate their path with the spirit of chinuch according to the way of Rebbe Nachman.
