I Am Not God, Hashem is God! The Daily Strengthening from the Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

What will happen the moment someone breaks the silence, stands before the great king, and challenges the truth that everyone has become accustomed to taking for granted?

In a world where human beings believed that wood and stone could be gods, one man arose in whom the desire for truth burned in the search for pure faith (emunah). That same individual who dared to challenge the conventions and ask the question that no one else dared to ask: Who is truly the King?

Sunday, Rosh Chodesh Elul (the first of the month of Elul) - The Daily Strengthening from the Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days)

Avraham (Abraham) broke all the idols, so Nimrod asked, "How can you do such a thing, breaking idols? Aren't these deities, aren't they gods?"

"You killed the gods! Look what you've done, you broke the gods, you killed them. Look how much blood was spilled from these gods."

This happened twice. The first time occurred in his father's shop, and then his father still didn't inform on him (to Nimrod). The second time occurred when it was the shift for who would guard in Nimrod's main hall. Nimrod had a giant hall with the newest idols, works of art.

The most advanced art was making idols. Today, people no longer believe these are gods, but once they believed they were gods. Suddenly an old woman comes, wanting an idol at age 70, so he brings out an idol at age 70 for her—poor thing, wrinkled, hunched over.

She puts a thousand dollars there for the idol, and he says to her, "They just took this out of the oven five minutes ago. You want an idol at age 70? They only took this out of the oven five minutes ago. It's made of real clay, they make it in the oven."

She grabbed the money, threw it at him, and said to him, "Give me back my money!" She threw the idol in his face—poor guy, he was injured and his face became covered in blood.

The next day, another Jew arrived at age 90. He wanted an idol at age 90, "like me" (he requests). He [Avraham] brought him a wrinkled, hunched idol with a hump. Well, he put down a thousand dollars. He [Avraham] said to him, "You know, they just took it out of the oven a minute ago, just a minute ago. You see, it's still boiling, it's still hot. Be careful not to get burned, don't touch it. Take something, gloves, take a paper."

"What, they only just took it out of the oven?" Thwack! He smashed the idol into his face, and his whole face was injured.

After she threw the idol in his face, the old woman met Nimrod. She says to him, "Nimrod, you're a liar! Nimrod, what are you telling me about idols being gods? They just took it out of the oven now, what kind of god is that?"

He says to her, "Who told you that's not a god?"

"Avraham!"

"Avraham? Let him come here."

Well, he brings Avraham. "Is it true that you said the idol isn't a god?"

"Yes, I said it's not a god!"

"Then who is God?"

"There is a God (Elokim) in Heaven!"

Nimrod says, "No, I am God," pointing with his finger, "I am God."

"If you are God, then who created the sun?"

Nimrod says, "I created the sun."

"You created the sun? Then come, move it for me. Move it a millimeter, two centimeters—move the sun!"

Nimrod says, "Like that? You insolent man! I haven't seen such chutzpah (audacity) since the creation of the world. Come on, straight into the fire!" He made a giant furnace inside a giant oven and threw him into the fire. Avraham comes out alive, seeing angels. The angel Gavriel (Gabriel) came inside the fire, cooling it for him, pouring cold water on him.

Nimrod says, "What is happening here?"

Well, Avraham comes out of the furnace, and Nimrod bows down to him. He says, "I discovered another god." Nimrod did not want to admit that there is a God in Heaven!

God in Heaven does not allow one to go with girls (without marriage); He does not allow one to look at a woman!
