In the Merit of Yael's Self-Sacrifice, She Merited to Be Greater Than the Matriarchs • The Daily Lesson from Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Before you is a summary of the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a – yesterday after the Maariv (evening) prayer, Monday night, the 27th of Shevat, Parshas Terumah:
The Molad (announcement of the new moon) is on Thursday at 6:41 AM; everyone should recite the Tikkun HaKlali (the General Rectification). At seven, the lesson will begin, and after that, there will be a Purim celebration. We ask that people do not learn from the behavior of Rabbah who slaughtered Rabbi Zeira [during the Purim feast, as mentioned in the Talmud]. Haman was hanged on Pesach (Passover), but in Shuvu Banim, we celebrate Purim in the month of Adar. Similarly, Sukkos is observed in the month of Tishrei instead of Nissan, even though the Clouds of Glory actually began in Nissan. Adam HaRishon (the first man) was born with wings; there were a thousand letters—large, medium, and small. Yael is even greater than Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Leah, and David. Therefore, the verse "Blessed shall she be above women in the tent" (Judges 5:24) has the same Gematria (numerical value) as the names Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Leah, and David combined. David was spiritually "impregnated" within her because she practiced mesirus nefesh (self-sacrifice). Regarding this, Hannah prayed, "He will give strength to His king and raise the horn of His anointed" (1 Samuel 2:10). Hannah prayed for David, the son of Nitzevet. Any woman who says the name "Nitzevet bas Adael" [King David's mother] will give birth with ease. Adam HaRishon—Abel was the right wing and Cain was the left wing. After the sin, his wings were clipped; only Enoch merited wings, and that is why he saw Gan Eden (Paradise). The girls should study Tanach (Bible) and recite Tehillim (Psalms). Every man should study with his wife the laws of Shluchin (Agents) in the Shulchan Aruch, Section 182, Paragraph 20, regarding the children whom the bears consumed. Rebbe Noson explains that they did not have a soul, but Elisha had to instill a soul into them; the Tzaddik has the power to instill a soul. The girls should say Tehillim and the boys should study six pages of Gemara (Talmud), and may we merit the complete Geulah (Redemption) speedily in our days, Amen!
