“There’s nothing like this. He speaks with angels. I turned myself into his chassid.”
These are the words of Attorney Ephraim Dimri, head of the defense team for the holy Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, in an interview conducted with him:

“We arranged this deal in order to bring an end to the legal whirlwind taking place around Rabbi Berland shlit"a. Because right now, until Rabbi Berland shlit"a’s evidentiary process is completed, it could take between a year and a half to two years—during all that time, the Rav would be sitting behind bars. Meaning, even if the Rav is found innocent, we will have accomplished nothing, because the Rav will have spent the entire time in prison. I believe the Rav is innocent, but our Sages taught us that sometimes, don’t be ‘right’—be wise. The reality right now is that we need to get the Rav released as quickly as possible.”

“I’ve been sitting with the Rav since before the holidays. I fell in love with him. Personally, I call him an angel. He has very great spiritual powers—an amazing person, truly, there’s nothing like it. I’ve had the opportunity to represent many rabbis and mekubalim, but someone like Rabbi Berland shlit"a—I don’t think such a thing exists. In my opinion, he is unique in his generation. Since then, a true love has been woven between us, and I hope that Rabbi Berland shlit"a will soon return to his community with his head held high, with pride. You have—no! We have (Attorney Dimri corrects himself)—I turned myself into a chassid of Rabbi Berland shlit"a. We have a Rav who is unique in his generation, a genius of his generation—there’s nothing like it, I’m telling you.”

“A personal story that happened to me with the Rav shlit"a: Ten days ago I needed to meet with the Rav shlit"a, and because he is such a Tzaddik, beforehand I went to immerse in the Kinneret. When the Rav saw me, he immediately remarked to me: ‘You immersed in the Kinneret, right?’ I confirmed it, and the Rav wrote on a page the names of the angels around me and began speaking with them next to me. He is on an immense spiritual level. He sang to the angels and told me: ‘Attorney Dimri, look—the angels are dancing.’ But I can’t see; I don’t have the abilities of the Rav shlit"a. Yet I felt it—I truly felt it.”

“The Rav is a genius. His mind cannot be grasped as a human being’s. He did calculations for us there that are impossible to describe, and everything was precise down to the last detail. It’s astounding.”
