Listen: System Collapse in Intensive Care

"A few days before the holy holiday of Passover, my one-year-and-five-month-old nephew lost consciousness, and as a result, he spent five days in intensive care." The doctors could not understand what had happened to him, but his condition was terrible and only continued to deteriorate. On Friday, the eve of the holiday, I called Natan the gabbai, who promised me that the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a would pray, and he was certain there would be good results. I remember that it was on Friday that we last spoke." Natan intervenes in the conversation. "That was the last time before the holiday that I could still call the Rav shlit"a and update him on the child's condition."

"Throughout the entire holiday, the child was in the hospital connected to machines in intensive care, but during this time, we could not make telephone contact with Natan. From Friday night, the child's condition worsened and deteriorated to the point of system collapse. We were very worried, but to our great joy, from that point on, a steady improvement began in his condition, until they literally removed the devices and ventilators, thank Hashem. On Thursday, the eve of the second day of the holiday, they moved the child to the pediatric ward. May His Name be praised, today, Sunday after the holiday, the child was discharged to his home. We thank Hashem and all the people who prayed for us. Many thanks to our teacher, the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a.

We will note an interesting point: when Natan the gabbai speaks with Mrs. Nurit, he tries to recall with her exactly which story is being referred to. Anyone who knows this gabbai knows how much he strives and is dedicated to his mission; if so, why does he even need time to remember?! In a conversation we held with him, Natan told us that certainly every story that reaches Rav Berland shlit"a through him is a world unto itself, but to his joy, he hears about miracles and salvations on a daily basis. "I see with my own eyes how an emissary of Hashem works salvations for many good people."
