Merit Me on the Day of the 7th of Adar to be Included in the Attributes of Moshe Rabbeinu • A Collection of Awesome Prayers from the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a for the Day of the 7th of Adar

Today is the 7th of Adar, the day of the hillula (anniversary of passing) of the Raya Mehemna (Faithful Shepherd), Moshe Rabbeinu (Moses our Teacher), peace be upon him. Before you is a collection of awesome prayers from the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days) for this holy and awesome day.

1. Master of the Universe, merit me on the day of the 7th of Adar to be included in the attributes of Moshe Rabbeinu, peace be upon him, and in the holy spirit of the master of the prophets, who merited to be the "most humble of all men upon the face of the earth." He merited immediately upon his birth to be included in the light of the seven days [of creation], as it says, "And she saw him that he was good" (the word *Vatere* [and she saw] equals *Shechinah* [Divine Presence] in the *millui* [spelling out] of the letter *Yud*), in the aspect of "And G-d saw the light that it was good." For he was comprised of all the lights of all the souls of Israel, since You carved his soul from Your very Essence, which includes all the souls of Your treasured people.

2. Master of the Universe, there is no end to Your mercy, no limit to the greatness of Your kindness, and no searching out Your wonders. Above all is Your humility, for just as Your greatness is infinite, so too is Your humility beyond search. From its light, You emanated upon Moses, the chosen of Your prophets, until through its power he sought out Dathan and Abiram, who opposed and shamed him, seeking to establish peace and appease them. He even said to Korach, "I too want you to be the Kohen Gadol (High Priest)."

3. Please, Merciful and Gracious Father, merit me to be included in the humility of Moshe Rabbeinu in his pursuit of peace and kindness and in his love for all creatures. [Merit me] in his pure and refined qualities through which he saw the greatness of every single Jew and believed that they would certainly perform teshuvah (repentance) as long as the breath of life remained in their nostrils. Merit me to receive from the light of the crowns that You emanated upon him from the spirit of holiness and from the hewing of the good sapphire stone, which was hidden in two hundred and forty-eight (248) worlds and from which You built his holy body, which had no attachment to physicality.

4. Merit us to be included in the humility of Moshe Rabbeinu, who carried us in his bosom, "as a nurse carries a suckling child." Merit us to be perfumed by his light and to ascend through his crowns, for You crowned him with four hundred and twenty-five lights, the numerical value of "Na’aseh" (we will do). Through their power, he drew down upon Israel the yearning and longing of "Na’aseh V’Nishma" (we will do and we will hear), and he drew down to them with every single word a new soul, in the aspect of "Let every soul praise (the initials of which spell *Kohas*) Hashem." And You crowned him with three hundred and sixty-five crowns, through whose power he would be renewed every single day.

5. Master of the Universe, merit me to be included in the purity of his soul, for even before his soul descended to the world, You brought it up before Your Throne of Glory and entrusted to it all the keys of kindness and mercy for those who do Your will, and all the keys of judgment to punish those who turn away from You and those who persecute Your children.

6. Even before he came into the world, You crowned him with the letter *Mem*—which corresponds to the Throne of Glory itself; with the letter *Shin*—corresponding to the three legs of the Throne, in the aspect of the three Patriarchs; and with the letter *Heh*—corresponding to the Sefirah of Malchus (the attribute of Kingship), the fourth leg of the Throne. You passed him through all the lights of Gan Eden (Paradise) and through all the hosts and legions of heaven, until all the angels and Seraphim (fiery angels) trembled. An awesome and fearsome voice was heard that shook all the heavens, announcing and saying: "This is the soul that is destined to descend among human beings and is destined to give the Torah—a hidden treasure from all treasures—and to stir all the worlds above and below." At that moment, all the high angels accepted him upon themselves, and they opened [their mouths] and said: "You have set a man over our heads; we went through fire and water."

7. Master of the Universe, just as You merited Moshe Rabbeinu in the month of Adar, whose zodiac sign is Pisces (fish), to pray 515 prayers—the numerical value of *Shirah* (song)—for he said a song before You so that You would hear his prayer; so too, merit us to open every single prayer with songs and praises, dancing and circles, so that it may ascend before You for satisfaction and favor. Master of the Universe, merit me to be included in the love of Israel of the Raya Mehemna (Faithful Shepherd), who requested "E'ebrah Na" (Let me please cross over) specifically in the month of Adar, in order to save the Jewish people from all the four future exiles and from the two destructions that occurred to us, as hinted in "E'ebrah Na" (*Aleph-Ayin-Beis-Resh-Heh Nun-Aleph*): The Babylonian exile—**N**ebuchadnezzar, **A**hashuerus; the Greek exile—**A**ntiochus, **N**icanor; the Roman exile—**N**ero, **V**espasian (Aspasyanus).

8. Merit me also to pray and request for the Jewish people, as Moses requested from the 1st to the 7th of Adar, in the month whose zodiac sign is Pisces (fish)—to save the Jewish people who are compared to fish.

9. Merit me to sweeten from upon myself, from upon all the House of Israel, and from upon the entire world all the judgments that are drawn from *techelet* (blue wool), in the merit of Mordechai who "went out from before the King"—the King of the Universe—"in a garment of techelet." For he merited to sweeten all the judgments included in *techelet* through the garment of "techelet and white (*chur*)," by awakening the soul of Chur [the son of Miriam] who sacrificed his life to save Israel from idolatry. And through the "great crown of gold," he merited the aspect of "the righteous sit with their crowns on their heads," to sweeten all the *Gevuros* (severities) called *Zahav* (gold), and to merit the light that comes out of Eden, "where the gold is," in the aspect of "and it has dust of gold." For through the aspect of dust that comes from the "shroud of *butz* (fine linen)," as he wrapped himself in *butz* and threw himself into the mud and mire, he merited the great crown of gold in the secret of *Adam Kadmon* (Primordial Man). He drew down lights from *Adam Kadmon* until he merited *Argaman* (purple), meriting that **U**riel, **R**aphael, **G**abriel, **M**ichael, and **N**uriel (the initials of *Argaman* plus *Nun*) surrounded him and protected him from every side.
